Meghan Markle’s Beagle Mamma Mia appears in Abigail Spencer’s gushing post about new jam – hinting the Duchess might be hand delivering American Riviera Orchard product to her inner circle

Meghan Markle’s dog Mamma Mia made a surprise photo appearance with her friend Abigail Spencer this weekend.

The royal, 42, has donated jars of her limited edition American Riviera Orchard jam to her inner circle, with Harry’s polo player friend Nacho Figueras, actress Tracee Ellis Ross and activist Kelly McKee Zajfen among the select group to receive a jar.

The latest influencer to pose with the sweet jam is Meghan’s Suits co-star Abigail, 42, who posted a photo to Instagram from a lush garden with the strawberry jam in her hand.

“This jam is my jam,” she told her followers. ‘A wonderful taste of what is to come… I love you so much M.’

The post included two photos of Abigail lying on the grass with a beagle, which followers quickly realized is Mamma Mia, a dog Harry and Meghan rescued in 2022.

The nine-year-old dog was once one of 4,000 beagles bred at the Envigo breeding and research facility in Virginia that would be sold for use in pharmaceutical and biotechnology research.

U.S. Department of Agriculture officials inspected the unit and found a female beagle whose leg was stuck in loose flooring for so long that she was suffering from dehydration, according to court documents.

Facility officials admitted to inspectors that they did not know how long she had been held. Another inspection found that nine injured beagles were euthanized instead of receiving veterinary care.

A later inspection found that many of the 196 beagles scheduled to be euthanized were not tranquilized before being given a lethal injection directly into their heart muscle, leading a federal judge to approve a plan to save the beagles. The dogs were then transferred to the Humane Society of the United States, before being moved to shelters or groups such as the Beagle Freedom Project.

Mamma Mia was then rescued and taken into care by the charity Beagle Freedom Project in July 2022, with Harry and Meghan giving her a forever home a month later.

The presence of Mamma Mia suggests that the photo may have been taken in Meghan’s Montecito garden, or that Meghan was visiting Abigail with the pet in tow.

Some fans have speculated that Meghan even took the photo herself.

Abigail, best known for her roles on Grey’s Anatomy, is the sixth person to share a photo wearing the Duchess’ jam.

The post comes after Meghan and Abigail beamed together in a series of Instagram photos in support of friend Kelly McKee Zajfen’s new Mother’s Day campaign for her charity ‘Alliance of Moms’.

Kelly, 44, also received one of the coveted jams and raved about it on social media, saying last week she was “so proud” of the Duchess.

The Duchess of Sussex sent friends the limited-edition pot ahead of her brand’s formal launch later this spring with a range of items.

The majority of the 50 recipients have yet to publicly acknowledge the merchandise drop.

But Abigail today showed off her boyfriend’s gift, which was presented in a bowl of lemons surrounded by flowers, during a photo shoot.

Smiling in a sunny garden with her dog, the Grey’s Anatomy star showed off the ceramic bowl for all to see.

“This jam is my jam,” she told her followers. ‘A wonderful taste of what is to come… I love you so much M.’

Her post seemed to be well received among her followers, with actress Mindy Kaling even commenting that it was “like an advertisement for sunshine and happiness.”

American jewelry designer Maya Brenner, whose brand became famous worldwide when Meghan was spotted wearing a necklace with an ‘M’ and ‘H’ charm in 2016, also responded to Abigail’s post.

She said: ‘This is just the most beautiful picture. And our Love Retreat chain collaboration is making its debut.’

It comes as Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Figueras, dubbed ‘the David Beckham of polo’ by Tatler, posted pictures of himself spreading the jam on a piece of buttered toast and biting into it on Instagram – just days after his wife Delfina Blaquier first advertised the Product.

Award-winning actress and comedy writer Mindy Kaling and actress Tracee Ellis Ross, daughter of Diana Ross, have both revealed they have been given jars of jam as the Duchess prepares to launch her lifestyle brand.

Fashion designer Tracy Robbins also shared a photo of the bottle.

With Meghan’s A-List friends joining the promotion for her new lifestyle brand, it could provide some insight into the Duchess’ target audience.

Animal lover Meghan has adopted a number of rescue dogs in recent years and brought her American rescue beagle Guy to Britain when she married Harry.

The former actress chose animal welfare organization Mayhew as one of her first patronages.

When she moved to England to be with Harry, she had to leave Bogart – a Labrador-Shepherd mix – in the US.

Meghan has previously said the pair of rescue dogs means “the absolute world” to her, calling them “my loves” and “my boys.”

Guy and Bogart made regular appearances on her Instagram account, with Guy even appearing in a patriotic knitted Union flag sweater.

Meghan often used the hashtag ‘#adoptdontshop’ in her Instagram posts.

It was American comedian and presenter Ellen DeGeneres who convinced Meghan to adopt Bogart, her first pet, after meeting her at a shelter.

While living in Britain, Meghan and Harry adopted a Labrador named Pula. The family also has chickens, which were rescued from a factory farm.
