Price Harry and Meghan Markle took a surprise trip to Uvalde, Texas to visit the family of Irma Garcia, a teacher killed in the May 2022 shooting at Robb Elementary School.
Irma sacrificed her own life during the shooting to get her young students to safety.
Two days later, Irma’s husband, Joe, died of a broken heart.

He also took photos with the Duke and Duchess together in the living room of his home.
Prince Harry and Meghan timed their visit to coincide with John’s mother’s birthday, with the couple even bringing them a birthday cake.
“Meghan Markle singing my mom happy birthday was the cutest and cutest thing ever, she even bought her a cake,” he wrote.
Later, John seemed overwhelmed by the visit, writing: ‘MEGHAN MARKLE AND PRINCE HARRY ARE COMING TO MY HOUSE!?!?!?! They are such a beautiful couple and I am so blessed, so happy that they came to visit the family.”

John explained that the couple had kept in touch with the Garcia family since the senseless shooting.
“They keep in touch every other month, sometimes a little longer, but their busy lives really made their visit feel more special,” he said.
Meghan visited Uvalde just two days after the shooting, offered her condolences and placed a bouquet of white roses, tied with a purple ribbon, at the cross for 10-year-old Uziyah Garcia.
