Meghan Markle is slammed over decision to postpone Netflix show amid Los Angeles fires

Meghan Markle has been criticized for her decision to delay the release date of her upcoming Netflix show amid the Los Angeles fires.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the premiere of the Duchess of Sussex’s new cooking series, titled With Love, Meghan, which is set to premiere on January 15.

But now she has announced that the show has been postponed for almost two months so she could “focus on the needs of those affected by the bushfires.”

The long-awaited series will now be released on March 4.

“I’m grateful to my partners at Netflix for their support in delaying the launch while we focus on the needs of those affected by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Meghan said in a statement to People magazine on Sunday.

People then took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts on her decision.

And while some applauded the 43-year-old mother of two, others accused her of only doing it because she didn’t want her show to be “overshadowed.”

“She doesn’t want to be overshadowed by anything,” one person wrote.

“Well, they already filmed and edited that show. It’s not like they’re filming it right now… and they didn’t even film it in her house. She’s scared of the backlash,” another user suggested.

“I suspect Netflix has postponed it and Meghan is pretending to be involved in the decision,” read a fourth tweet.

A fifth said: ‘Oh how magnanimous it is that she thinks of others and QUIETLY does the ‘right’ thing.’

However, others praised Meghan for her decision.

‘Good move. I’m relieved,” one person wrote.

“First sensible decision she’s made,” said another.

Meghan, 43, grew up in Los Angeles and now lives in Montecito with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.
