Meghan Markle dons £2,000 Luna Skye studs with £620 Hermès trainers as she attends her first afternoon of events at the Invictus Games

Meghan Markle opted for a pricey, sporty-chic style today when she stopped by the Invictus Games.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, joined the Duke in Dusseldorf yesterday and has since attended several events at the Games.

She had snapped during the swimming final in Rheinbad this afternoon, beaming as she gave a high five to the Games’ mascot, Buddy, a German Hovawart dog.

Former royal Meghan looked chic in minimalist style, wearing fitted black cigarette-style trousers and a sleeveless black top.

She paired the simple ensemble with a pair of £620 cream Hermès GET sneakers, made from canvas and calfskin and decorated with an ‘H’ motif.

And she added some bling to the outfit with a pair of £2,000 Luna Skye earrings, made in the shape of leaves.

Earlier today, Meghan put on a leggy show as she attended the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf with Prince Harry today.

The Duchess proved she can mix high street and high end in a pair of $98 J Crew linen shorts and a black tank top which she paired with a £177 J Crew blazer, a Givenchy belt and £10 Chanel shoes 910.

To add even more glamor to the look as she entered the arena to watch the wheelchair basketball, the royal wore Princess Diana’s £17,800 Cartier watch and a $62,000 Lorraine Schwartz pinky ring made with ‘diamonds donated from the Middle East’.

She added her £5,000 Cartier love bracelet to the look as she walked hand in hand with Prince Harry.

Meghan has opted for a mix of high street and high end looks throughout her journey so far.

Meghan has worn the £910 toe slingbacks and £450 Givenchy belt on many occasions, including one of her very first royal engagements.

She recently wore the shoes during a walk in California with an anti-stress patch on her wrist.

An extra touch of glitter was added to the outfit by her mysterious pinky ring, made by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz and reportedly worth an estimated $62,000.

There have been questions for some time about the origins of the pinky ring, which Meghan has worn a number of times.

In 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan denied claims the band was made with diamonds gifted to the couple by a mystery donor in the Middle East – before clarifying they were talking about a different ring.

They initially said the piece came from a stylist on the shoot, directly from the designer, and that there was no link to a mystery donor in the Middle East.

But in a spectacular turnaround, they later reversed the denial and made it clear they were talking about a different ring.

There was no further mention of the Lorraine Schwartz ring in question on her right hand, raising questions about whether Meghan has something to hide about the provenance of the diamond, which was first spotted on her finger in October 2020.

If the diamonds did indeed come from the Middle East, it is not clear whether Meghan received the gift while she was still a royal, or after she performed her last official duties in early March 2020.

Yesterday, the Duchess of Sussex looked radiant in a black shirt dress from Banana Republic, costing £112, as she joined Prince Harry on stage.

Meghan stunned in the simple yet chic black dress with button detailing at the front and a belt at the waist as she joined her husband on stage at an event on the second night of the 2023 tournament.

She paired her dress with black pumps and wore her thick brunette locks down and brushed behind one shoulder.

When she gave a speech on stage just hours after landing in Dusseldorf, Meghan had Harry by her side, who looked equally smart in a black suit and dark blue shirt.

The pair looked relaxed as they attended the private Invictus event, which hosts competitors and their family and friends and is sponsored by Amazon.

Meghan’s evening glam look follows her chic travel outfit as she flew from LAX to Dusseldorf, with a quick stopover at London Heathrow.

Spotted boarding her first flight in LA, the Duchess looked effortlessly stylish in her $770 ivory Valentino mules, black wide-leg cropped trousers, a long-sleeved V-neck top and oversized Celine sunglasses of $500 on her head while wearing a signature hat. .

She was clutching a $2,650 Goyard tote bag while her solo bodyguard lugged a backpack and a dark tote bag that may have contained one of Meghan’s dresses.

Known for her low-key luxury outfits, often monochrome, dazzling red carpet dresses and sharp suits, Meghan’s wardrobe mixes royal designers from Valentino and Celine to Manolo Blahnik, Chanel and Cartier with some affordable finds from Self Portrait and Aritzia.

Many of her big style moments came at the Invictus Games, where she famously debuted in Misha Nonoo’s ‘The Husband’ shirt in 2017, just months before the couple’s royal engagement.
