Images of Meghan Markle performing the ‘perfect curtsy’ resurfaced online after the Duchess claimed ‘I didn’t know what I was doing’ when she greeted the Queen for the first time.

The 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex recalled meeting the Queen for the first time in 2016 in the second episode of the documentary series Harry & Meghan, which hit the streaming platform earlier this month.

The controversial clip, which unimpressed viewers called “disrespectful” to the late Queen, shows the mother-of-two recreating the extremely deep curtsy she took to Her Majesty at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Before the meeting, Meghan claims she was surprised to learn she would have to bow to the Queen and has previously said Prince Harry helped her practice a proper bow to meet a member of the Royal Family.

However, after the bombshell of the Netflix series, eagle-eyed royal fans spotted a clip from the second season of Suits where the former actress takes a quick curtsy in her role as paralegal Rachel Zane.

The footage, which was filmed in 2010, shows Louis Litt (played by Rick Hoffman) thanking Rachel for the investigation she did on a case he is working on.

He then jokingly asks her to bow to him, and in response, Rachel takes a quick curtsey before being thrown out of her office.

Before the impromptu lunch at Windsor in 2016, Prince Harry said in the Netflix documentary series that he checked that his new girlfriend knew how to curtsy to her grandmother.

Sharing her own experience from that day, Meghan likened the meal to a trip to the American restaurant franchise Medieval Times and joked that she “didn’t know what I was doing” as she curtsied extremely deeply for the Queen.

Describing her first meeting with the late monarch, Meghan said: “I’m starting to realize now that this is a big deal.” I mean, the Americans will understand this.

We have a Medieval Times dinner and tournament. It was just like that, I bowed as if I was like… “Nice to meet you, Her Majesty.”

Meghan Markle claimed she didn’t know how to curtsey properly before meeting the Queen in the couple’s Netflix documentary series, which hit screens earlier this month.

Meanwhile, others claimed Prince Harry looked “VERY uncomfortable” when his wife mocked his attempt to curtsy.

In addition, the Duchess also said in her interview with Oprah last year that Prince Harry helped her practice her curtsy moments before the Queen walked into the room.

The Duchess of Sussex, 41, admitted on the Netflix series that she repeatedly practiced the patriotic rendition of ‘God Save The Queen’, which she had learned online.

And Fergie ran out and she was like, “Are you ready? Do you know how to curtsy?” I was like, “oh my gosh, guys.”

The Queen was the first senior member of the Royal Family that Meghan met after she and Prince Harry announced their relationship in 2016.

“She had no idea what it was all about,” Harry tells the docu-series, as he sits with his arm around his wife. “So it was a bit of a shock to the system for her.”
