Awards interview: Meghan King, shown Monday in Los Angeles, has criticized her ex-husband Jim Edmonds after he recently filed court documents seeking to modify their custody agreement.
The former professional baseball player made the filing March 13 in a St. Louis courthouse, according to an article in People.
The motion to modify was made for numerous reasons, including the “impractical and unworkable” physical custody arrangement between them, according to the filing.
Jim and [wife] Kortnie [O’Connor] I believe Meghan is unstable, out of shape, unwilling to co-parent, and unable to provide an environment for the children that is emotionally and physically safe,” a rep for Jim told People in a statement.
Furthermore, they feel that Meghan is intentionally creating obstacles in an effort to put distance between them and the children. Jim has filed a motion with the court to modify the current custody arrangement that will give him an increased amount of time with all three children and a more consistent schedule,” the statement continued.
“If Meghan is unable to parent and co-parent effectively under this new arrangement, Jim is prepared to continue to pursue further custody of the children to ensure their emotional and physical well-being.”
Meghan also commented to People on the matter, saying, “I’ve been the main mom and single mom to my kids with no issues except the ones Jim causes.”
‘Your lewd claims are unfounded and that is how you will find yourself in court. My children have always been and always will be my top priority,’ he concluded.
Meghan joined The Real Housewives Of Orange County for season 10 in 2015 and returned for seasons 11 and 12 which spun off in 2016 and 2017.
