Meghan posed for selfies with excited children during her and Prince Harry’s quasi-royal tour of Nigeria.

The Duchess of Sussex was photographed in behind-the-scenes footage in a room with beaming schoolchildren.

As a sign of approval, one of the children shared a photo with the message: “She is literally so nice!”

Meghan was left behind by her husband on Friday when he left for Kaduna state, 200 kilometers northwest of the capital Abuja.

He visited wards in a military hospital full of injured young soldiers as he visited the area, which is listed as a no-go zone by the British Foreign Office.

The prince was dressed in traditional clothing, including a waistcoat and a ‘big dress’, which he needed to get over his head.

Upon arriving in the zone, which is partly controlled by armed bandits, Harry apologized for leaving his wife behind in the Nigerian capital.

He told the audience, “I’m sorry I didn’t bring my wife.”

During the hospital visit, he shook hands with about fifty former soldiers and told them, “You’ll get better, get back on your feet.”

Harry and Meghan received a rock star welcome upon arrival in Nigeria, as excited crowds clamored to take selfies as the military rolled out the red carpet.

Apart from the school visit where they danced with the students, other parts of the tour were more formal, including meetings with officials at the Nigerian Defense Headquarters.

Royal expert Phil Dampier said of the couple’s visit: ‘The trip to Nigeria is being described as a private trip, but it was at the invitation of the country’s defense minister and it has the air of a kind of quasi-royal tour.’

The couple also receives extra protection from the West African country.

While in Abuja, the couple visited Lightway Academy university, which receives support from their Archewell Foundation to educate and train young girls affected by conflict in Nigeria.

During their visit, the couple are also expected to attend volleyball and basketball matches, and visit non-governmental organizations to which they have provided support.

Meghan will also co-host an event on women in leadership with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director general of the World Trade Organization, according to their spokesperson Charlie Gipson.
