Megan Rapinoe’s last game for the United States is September 24 in Chicago
Megan Rapinoe, one of the most important and iconic players in American football history, will play her last game for the United States against South Africa at Soldier Field in Chicago on September 24.
Rapinoe has a disappointing campaign at the 2023 Women’s World Cup with the USWNT, where they were eliminated against Sweden in the round of 16.
That was the first elimination the USA has ever suffered from this tournament – one they won four times.
Rapinoe was instrumental in two of those four victories – once in 2015 and again in 2019, where she won the Ballon d’Or as the tournament’s best player.
She was relegated to a bench role in Australia and New Zealand due to her recovery from injury.
