Megan McKenna has branded her stint on TOWIE as “one of the most miserable times of my life.”
The TV star, 30, said she felt the show ‘walked into a lion’s den’ and felt people had the perception of her being a ‘b***h’ based purely on what they’d seen of her on Celebrity Big Brother.
Megan rose to fame in Ex On The Beach and starred in TOWIE for a year in 2016. Her turbulent relationship with the cheating Pete Wicks formed one of the biggest storylines.
In a new interview, Megan reflected on her stint on the show and how former co-stars Gemma Collins, 42, and James Arg Argent, 35, are the cast members who have continued to support her singing career.
“TOWIE was probably one of the most miserable times of my life. I loved the show and always watched it growing up,” she said Closer.

During her time on the show, Megan fell out with Chloe Lewis and had an acrimonious split with Pete Wicks, after discovering he had been secretly sexing other women.
Megan then left the show to pursue her music career. She said from the cast that it was Gemma and James who supported her the most.
Gemma and Megan were both on the same series on Celebrity Big Brother, and the pair still support each other to this day and run into each other on M&S.
“I didn’t know Gemma when I went to Big Brother and I really got a warm feeling for her,” said Megan. “I’d say she’s one of the few on TOWIE other than Arg who actually supports my music and sends me messages. That goes a long way.’
Megan is much happier pursuing her country music career and recently went Instagram official with her boyfriend Oliver Burke.
Oliver is playing like a good winter for EFL Championship club Millwall, where he is currently on loan from Bundesliga club Werder Bremen.
The pair went Instagram official with their romance last month during a romantic trip to Paris together.

Megan recently discussed the pair’s romance with the new magazine, saying the pair have been “inseparable” since they started dating.
She said: ‘We have mutual friends and our first date was just so much fun – we’ve been inseparable ever since. We literally do everything together and I’m so happy.
“He’s such a nice person and I’m very positive about everything – my life and my relationship.”
