The upcoming crime thriller Johnny & Clyde is a reimagining of the classic story of Bonnie and Clyde.
Megan Fox, 36, — who recently reconciled with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly — stars in the movie as crime boss and casino owner Alana Hart who vows to take out one or both lovebirds during their crime spree.
Avan Jogia, 31, plays Johnny to Ajani Russell’s, 24, Clyde. They are on the loose, madly in love and on a very violent crime spree.
After several lower-level successes, they set their sights on the money room of crime boss Alana’s casino.
Tom DeNucci directs the crime thriller/slasher picture he co-wrote with Nick Principe.

When the trailer begins, the psychopathic lovers are in a red car preparing to rob an armored car.
They stop and Clyde has her curvaceous rear end bent over the car’s engine as if it broke.
When the armored car pulls up to help her and the guard gets out, she turns, grins wickedly, and shoots him.
The trailer then cuts to Alana’s office where one of her minions tells her about the armored car robbery.
She remarks on how romantic it is that two “lunatics go on a killing spree across the country.”
The trailer then cuts to a few scenes of Johnny and Clyde torturing their victims, while a voiceover informs them about the casino’s money room.
They outline the plan to break into the money room, but they forget who they are dealing with.
Alana vows to take one or both of them down – by force if necessary.

Johnny and Clyde proclaim, “We’ll get the money and then we’ll live happily ever after.”
“I think it will be fine,” Alana says.
The rest of the trailer features gore, gore, violence, and loads of guns.
In an interview with Damn disgusting, said DeNucci, ‘Megan’s character is very dark. I don’t want to give too much away, but visually we wanted her to be almost a Disney princess, but a screwed up, very dark, twisted version of that.
“Her looks are just unbelievable… this kind of almost evil princess figure. I went down a strange kind of Disney path. A lot of that vintage Disney stuff was kind of dark, you know?’

Premiere date: Johnny & Clyde premieres in theaters and on demand on May 5
Co-writer Principe said the film is “about two psychopaths who are completely in love.” They’ve kind of launched a Natural Born Killers crime wave across the country, and they’re running out of money and nowhere to go.”
He continued, “They come back to their hometown and try to pull off a few robberies until they get wind of a really, really high score. The lead character Johnny calls on some of his childhood foster care friends, who are very mature at this point and are equally entertaining psychopaths.”
“They form a heist crew to take down this secret money room run by Megan Fox’s character, where they face some supernatural surprises…” he concluded.
Johnny & Clyde premieres in theaters and on demand on May 5.
