One of Crystal Lara’s most viewed clips sees her eating wings from Wingstop from the comfort of her car (left), while a clip of her eating an apple didn’t get much attention

Texas-based Wingstop seems to be a hugely popular spot among TikTokers, with bits from the restaurant getting millions of likes.

Self-proclaimed food lover Crystal Lara (@crystalxlaraa) is mainly seen rustling up meals at home, but one of her most viewed clips sees her eating Wingstop wings from the comfort of her car.

In the 58-second clip, which has more than 2.6 million views, she doesn’t say a single word.

For starters, she shows viewers her fries before turning the camera on herself eating the wings.

In a later TikTok, Crystal filmed herself eating a peanut butter apple in the car and joked, “I just want to see if healthy eating goes viral on camera.”

To prove her point — that fast food gets the most traction — her “healthy eating” TikTok only got a little over 6,000 views.

How to grow your followers on TikTok

Here are top tips for growing your TikTok account:

Understand your audience: You should start by asking why people would want to follow you. What do you offer that thousands of other accounts don’t?

Perfect your profile: Your profile should emphasize your identity as a creator. It should show your intended audience why they should subscribe to your page. The type of videos you want to share should be obvious to anyone viewing your profile.

Follow the basic rules and conventions: You must ensure that you do not violate TikTok’s content guidelines. There should be nothing inappropriate in your videos; no hate speech, racism, etc. Also, like Snapchat and IGTV, the convention on TikTok is to upload vertical videos. The ideal aspect ratio is 1080×1920.

Produce consistent content: You want to establish a consistent pattern so your audience knows what to expect. Ideally, you want all of your niche-themed videos to have the same look and feel.

Engage with your audience: Don’t forget to communicate with your viewers. Make sure to respond to comments people leave on your videos. It may seem like hard work, but it makes your followers believe you care and pay attention to them.

Promote your TikTok videos on other social channels: Promote your videos on your other social channels and also on your blog if you have one. The more people know about your content, the more people will view and like it.
