Camp Hill scored 92 on the livability index thanks to its low monthly costs of $3,356 and low crime rate of 9.4 per 1,000 residents.

Meanwhile, Delaware was ranked as the best state to retire in thanks to its coastline, favorable tax policies and wellness services.

Camp Hill managed to top the list of 44 best small towns to retire to due to its affordability and safety.

About 3,200 households in the area earn a median income of $105,000 and about 15 percent of the population is 65 or older.

The small town offers a vibrant shopping scene with many women-owned small businesses.

It is also home to the award-winning Cleve J. Fredricksen Library and a weekday farmers market that runs from May to October.

While Northville in Michigan ranked second with a livability score of 86, monthly cost of living of $3,383 and a crime rate of 6.5 per 1,000 residents.
