Meet the five-year-old supercar driver who broke stunning record driving motor sport legend dad’s £450,000 Lamborghini at 194mph

  • Five-year-old Zayn Sofuoglu reached a speed of 194 mph in a Lamborghini Revuelto
  • Zayn also made headlines last year when he drove a £1.6million Ferrari around a race track
  • The youngest holds the unofficial record for the fastest child to drive a car

Meet Zayn Sofuoglu, the five-year-old prodigy who may have become the fastest kid in the world.

Zayn, wearing racing gear and a helmet, and his father sitting next to him, reached a record speed of 312 km/h in his father’s Lamborghini Revuelto.

This stunning feat was made possible by Zayn being secured in a special child seat, with the accelerator and brake pedals extended so he could reach them.

The five-year-old boy’s sheer talent and drive to get behind the wheel and set the unofficial record for fastest child to drive a car should come as no surprise considering his father is five-time Supersport World Champion Kenan Sofuoglu.

Kenan, now a Turkish MP, wasn’t exactly known for holding back during his tough motorcycle career and it seems he’s transferred that same mentality to his younger self.

The stunning video sees Zayn calmly piloting the powerful plug-in hybrid down an empty runway.

Despite his hands barely reaching the gear stick and his body shaking uncontrollably from the car’s immense speed, Zayn still manages to reach a speed of 312 km/h, as seen on the dashboard in the video.

After the epic sprint down the runway, Zayn celebrates by doing multiple donuts in the £450,000 supercar, creating a cloud of smoke that quickly envelops the car.

However, this is not the first time that this Turkish child sensation has gone viral.

In 2023, when he was just three years old, he became an internet star when his parents posted a video on social media of him doing donuts in a Ferrari SF9P Stradale.

Since then he has capitalised on his cult status and continued his motorsport adventures with his many admirers.

Fans are kept up to date with Zayn’s motorsport successes through his Instagram account, which is managed by his parents.

The page showcases his impressive talent on both two and four wheels and now has over 3.6 million followers.

Zayn was introduced to the world of motorsport at a young age thanks to his father’s involvement in MotoGP.

His father, Kenan Sofuoglu, is a former professional motorcycle racer.

Kenan is in fact the most decorated driver in the Supersport World Championship, with five titles, 43 wins and 84 podium finishes.

During his time in the sport he raced for motorcycle brands Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki.

From 2010 to 2010 he also rode for Honda in Moto 2, but he failed to break into the sport’s premier competition, Moto GP.

It’s hard to predict whether Zayn will become as successful in motorsport as his father.

If he continues on this course, he is on track to equal Max Verstappen’s title of youngest ever Formula 1 driver.

Verstappen made his Formula 1 debut for Red Bull in 2015, when he was just 17 years old. However, if the Turkish lad continues to impress in the motorsport world, he could well break the Dutchman’s record.
