Meet Jordyn Blum, Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl’s wife of 21 years as he admits to fathering secret baby daughter

Dave Grohl shocked fans on Tuesday when he admitted in an inflammatory social media post that he cheated on his wife of 21 years and secretly fathered a child.

The 55-year-old Foo Fighters frontman, who married his second wife Jordyn Blum, 48, in 2003, admitted he was fighting to save his marriage and relationships with his three eldest daughters when his betrayal became public.

Grohl and Blum are considered one of the strongest couples in showbiz. Just two months ago, they were happier than ever when they attended the Wimbledon tennis championships in London.

Grohl’s statement read, “I recently became the father of a new baby daughter, born out of wedlock. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.

“I love my wife and my children, and I am committed to earning their trust and forgiveness. We are grateful for your attention to all the children involved as we move forward together.”

The couple are parents to Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.

The couple first met in 2001 at the Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood, California and married on August 2, 2003 at their LA home.

Grohl recounted their first meeting in a 2007 interview with GQ. During the conversation, he had a chilling sense of foreboding when he told Jordyn she was his “future ex-wife.”

He said, ‘Taylor [Hawkins] and I were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar. Taylor was the center of attention. I mean, girls were sending him drinks. This bombshell comes up and starts talking to Taylor.

‘I just got out of a Tenacious D session. I’m in Vans sneakers, no socks, dirty shorts, and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood. She waves her friend Jordyn away. I’m like, “Oh my God. No chance!” So I just have a drink and act like an ass.

And at the end of the night I was pissed and I was staring at her and I was like, “You’re my future ex-wife.” So she gave me her number: ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.’

“We saw each other a couple of times. But I realized this was the flag, the finish line, and I thought, ‘Oh, wait a minute.’ So I backed off.

Grohl told Elle in 2007 that he stopped calling Blum after a few dates.

He shared, “After three months, I had an epiphany and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.'”

Jordyn previously worked as a model and TV producer. When she first met Dave, she was working at MTV.

The rock star, who is often described as a “family man,” has spoken about the importance of his family in interviews over the years.

In 2007, Grohl told The Guardian: ‘[My wife] Jordyn and [daughter] Violet is an anchor that keeps me from disappearing completely.’

Speaking to TIME in 2012, he said his family “changed everything I do.”

He added: ‘It’s changed everything I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and maybe you’re a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that finds its way into your songwriting.’

While little is known about Blum, People reported that she once appeared on the cover of Teen after being discovered in a grocery store at age 12.

Blum was reportedly working as a producer at MTV when she met the frontman.

Blum has collaborated with the Foo Fighters several times, including in the 2002 music video White Limo, in which she also appeared.

She also co-directed the Foo Fighters’ 2002 music video “Walking a Line.”

In a January 2008 interview with GQ, Grohl said that the song Statues, on his band Echoes’ sixth studio album, Silence, Patience & Grace, was inspired by him and his wife.

He said, “To me, there is nothing more beautiful than seeing the gravestones of a husband and wife side by side in a cemetery.”

Ballad Burn Away was also written with Jordyn in mind, with Grohl saying, “I was in love with my future wife and had a romantic f*****g prom ballad. Ugh! We would never f*****gs**t play that live.”

During an August 2018 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Grohl revealed that Blum had been taken to the hospital with appendicitis.

He said, ‘It’s true. I got a text from her, I’m not feeling well. Then I walked off stage after it was done and she said, “I’m on my way to the hospital to get my appendix out.”‘

“I ran over there and got there on time. She’s amazing.”

Grohl divorced his first wife Jennifer Leigh Youngblood in 1997 after admitting to cheating after three years of marriage.
