Medieval strategy city-builder Manor Lords is coming to PC in early access next April

The upcoming historical city building and strategy game, Landlords, just got a new trailer confirming that it will be released in early access on PC in April next year. To be precise, it will be available from April 26, 2024.

Revealed today (October 25) during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase, Landlords will be downloadable via Steam and GOG, and available on PC Game Pass from day one. It’ll also be coming to consoles at a later date – the full roster of devices that can expect a release hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s said that it will eventually arrive on Xbox Game Pass.

For those who don’t know the title: Landlords (which is being developed by Slavic Magic and published by Hood Horse) will challenge players to develop a settlement for their people in a 14th century-inspired world. They will have to exploit and carefully manage resources, adapt to different seasons, overcome diseases, establish trade routes and get to know other local lords.

This all ties into an overarching real-time strategic battle system, in which players must lead their army to victory to defend their settlement and expand their territory. Although mercenaries can be hired directly, the bulk of your army is made up of your own citizens, who must be trained to fight in battle. Their deaths mean that there are fewer people available to keep your city running smoothly when they’re not busy fighting, so preventing loss of life is crucial.

Landlords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord,” the game said summary on Steam is reading. “Grow your starting village into a vibrant city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your land through conquest.”
