Raising Canes had a surprising new employee at the desk on Tuesday: Mean Girls star Avantika Vandanapu.
The 18-year-old actress, wearing a Raising Cane’s T-shirt with a pink twist, served hungry customers at the chain’s New York City location.
Vandanapu stars as Karen Shetty, a member of the Plastics clique, in the new reboot, but she took a break from her fast life to work a shift at the popular chicken restaurant.
Vandanapu took orders at the counter, served customers lemonade and even prepared fresh butter bread in the kitchen.
Her service was captured in a video posted by Raising Cane’s: ‘@avantika brought a touch of glam and pink to the Raising Cane’s counter! It was definitely FUN working with her!’ they captioned the post.

“Hot fresh chicken for Amelia!” Avantika gushed after successfully fulfilling an order.
“I have class right after this,” she noted at the beginning of the clip.
Vandanapu is not the first celebrity to collaborate with the eatery.
Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix served customers at a Raising Cane’s in California last year, while Post Malone partnered with the brand to open a Dallas Cowboy’s-themed version of the restaurant.
Avantika stars opposite Renee Rapp, Angourie Rice, Bebe Woods and more in the brand new musical reboot of Mean Girls, which even featured a surprise cameo from original star Lindsay Lohan.
Lohan, who famously played newcomer Cady Heron in the 2004 cult classic, was reportedly paid about $500,000 for half a day’s work. Variety.
Lohan made a brief appearance in the new musical adaptation, appearing in a math competition scene that drew parallels to her character’s storyline in the original film.
Although she doesn’t reprise her role, Lohan pays tribute to the character’s time with the “Mathletes” at North Shore High School.

In the original, Cady and her teammates compete against a rival high school in an academic decathlon on the night of the Spring Fling.
But now, instead of competing, Lohan is the one leading the competition from a podium on stage.
As students – including Cady (played by Angourie Rice) – rapidly spout answers, Lohan jokes about how “familiar” the moment feels.

According to Variety, her surprise cameo received thunderous applause at the premiere in New York last week.
The possibility of cameos made by the original cast was previously ruled out by Tina Fey, the mastermind behind the Mean Girls universe.
In conversation with the New York TimesShe said Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert were just too “busy” to sign up.
