MCoBeauty founder Shelley Sullivan ‘abruptly’ splits from husband Anthony after seven years of marriage

Leading cosmetics entrepreneur Shelley Sullivan and her husband Anthony have split seven years after their lavish wedding in Point Piper.

The couple abruptly separated two weeks ago, reports The Sunday Telegraphwith both the beauty mogul and her accountant husband leaving their marital home in Bellevue Hill.

Ms Sullivan, the founder of popular skincare brand MCoBeauty, has moved to a nearby hotel in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, sources said.

Anthony is reportedly abroad.

Neither of the Sullivans have commented on the split, and even close friends are said to be in the dark about the details of their abrupt divorce.

Sullivan, 50, is celebrated as one of Australia’s most successful businesswomen.

She made a name for herself in the 1990s with her modeling and talent agency before launching her thriving ‘masstige’ beauty brand ModelCo in 2016.

Masstige is a retail term that refers to a product that is marketed as ‘prestige’ or premium, but is in fact mass-produced and cheap.

The brand is on track to generate $247 million in fiscal 2024.

Sydney-based Sullivan launched her brand’s iconic Tan Airbrush In a Can more than 20 years ago and a bottle is still sold every 36 seconds worldwide.

ModelCo has overtaken older beauty brands such as L’Oréal, Maybelline and Rimmel in the Australian market.

Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Elyse Knowles have represented the internationally renowned line.

She is credited with introducing the world to the first heated eyelash curlers.
