M&Co will return to the High St with 50 new stores set to open

Fashion retailer M&Co returns to High Street after closing all 170 stores – with 50 new stores opening over the next two years

A major fashion retailer makes a surprising return to the high street after all of its stores have closed.

Scottish clothing retailer M&Co, which was bought by Yours Clothing, will open 50 stores in Britain over the next two years.

It comes after M&Co went into receivership last year and closed all 170 stores.

This news also follows the announcement that M&Co would relaunch online later this month.

M&Co closed the last of its stores in April, after going into receivership in December 2022

The exact locations of the 50 new stores cannot yet be revealed as negotiations are ongoing.

An exact date is also yet to be confirmed, but the first new locations are expected to open this fall.

The 170 M&Co store closures earlier this year are estimated to have cost 1,900 people their jobs.

Andrew Killingsworth, CEO of Yours Clothing, said: ‘We are determined to bring M&Co back to the high streets across the country.”

In addition to this news and the announcement that the brand would relaunch online on June 21, there are also plans for an M&Co app, but no details have been released.

This new site starts selling women’s clothing.
