McDonald’s worker reveals which drinks you should never order

A McDonald’s employee has revealed why customers should never order from the chain’s McCafe machines.

The staff member claimed in an unearthed comment on Reddit that the machines are “routinely neglected” because workers are not trained to properly clean them, meaning the insides are often filled with “black soot.”

A viral TikTok video, with more than two million views, reposted the comment, with dozens of others asking fast food workers what customers should never order at their restaurant.

The 31-response slideshow includes three responses from McDonald’s employees.

“I work for Mcdonald’s and make sure everyone who matters to me never orders anything that comes out of the ‘McCafe’ machine as they are routinely neglected,” one user wrote in response to user @webaddiedhere.

A TikTok user known as @webaddieshere posted a video slideshow of comments from a person claiming to be a McDonald’s employee in a Reddit post on May 14

‘Not only are the staff not properly trained in cleaning and maintenance, at almost every McDonalds I’ve had experience with, the managers responsible for training them don’t know everything either.’

The Reddit user, who worked at a McDonald’s in Alberta, added that the machines “require special brushes to clean,” but they hadn’t seen any of the restaurants “have the right brushes.”

‘All McCafe drinks go through a terribly dirty machine. We’re talking over 6 inches of uncleaned, liquid b******* making up the inner parts,” she added.

It attracted responses from a user claiming to be a McDonald’s employee in Canada and claiming that other beverage equipment had also not been properly cleaned.

‘The milkshake machine is not cleaned every day. The fountain drink dispenser is also rarely cleaned properly,” the commenter wrote.

The viral TikTok slideshow featured comments from Reddit users between six and 10 years ago.

McDonald’s claims on its website that it has implemented safety protocols in all its restaurants.

“Strict food safety standards and protocols are embedded in everything we do, from food sourcing, menu development, packaging and distribution to running our restaurants,” the site says.

“We embrace technology and work closely with our suppliers and expert partners to improve efficiency and reduce risk.”

The restaurant also laid claim to it Food Safety page on which members also share ‘internal knowledge’ through communication and training.
