An irate McDonald’s customer demands to know why a single slice of cheese costs more than an entire burger.
The customer recently bought a cheeseburger and paid $4.25 before seeing burgers on the menu for just $2.
The only difference between the two burgers is a single slice of cheese.
“When did a slice of cheese become more expensive than the whole burger?” he smoked.
And other foodies were just as baffled by the price difference.
Many accused the fast food chain of “ripping off” customers.

“Royal commission in cheeseburger prices,” one user replied to the man’s complaint, while another asked, “Is it because they rip us off?”
“Yes, I asked this question recently, even the staff think it’s ridiculous,” a third recalled.
Someone joked it was because of a “cheese tax” while a restaurant worker pointed out that the price of cheese has risen in recent months.
‘Work in a restaurant that uses a lot of cheese. The cost of cheese has skyrocketed over the past six to nine months. Killing my food costs,” they explained.
Many thought that the price difference could be due to the inclusion of the hamburger in the Maccas Loose Change Menu.
“The $2 burger is a promotion. The $4.25 cheeseburger is regular fare,” one person explained.
Outside of the loose change menu, the Hamburger is about 75 cents less than the Cheeseburger, although prices may vary slightly from restaurant to restaurant.

Both burgers all have the same other fillings, including a beef patty, onion, pickles, mustard, and ketchup.
Some Maccas fans thought they had a solution to get a cheaper cheeseburger, but an employee stopped their hacks.
“What happens if you order a burger and cheese?” one asked and another suggested, “Just get a burger and add cheese.”
‘I work at a Maccas. To all those asking if they can add cheese to the burger, they can’t. It is not mentioned in the app. It’s not on the vending machines or kiosks in the store,” the employee replied.
One foodie shared his own cheeseburger trick: “I’ve taken a few of these burgers on the way home before and slathered a slice of Woolies smokey cheese slices on each one.” Good job.’
