McDonald’s Australia launches the UK’s most popular menu item Down Under – but there’s a huge twist
McDonald’s Australia has brought Britain’s most popular menu item Down Under for the first time.
Customers can now get their hands on the Steakhouse Stack as part of the limited edition winter menu.
However, UK fans will notice something is off about the burger, which has undergone an Australian makeover.
The burger consists of two beef patties, shredded lettuce, crispy golden onions and sliced red onions, topped with a creamy peppercorn mayonnaise. The burger is served on a toasted gourmet bun, just like its British counterpart.
And here’s the difference: the Australian version has a twist of Aussie Jack cheese instead of cheddar, is made from Australian-raised beef, and has a gourmet bun instead of a seeded bun.
Mozzarella Sticks, another fan favorite, have also appeared on the latest menu and are now served with sweet chilli sauce.
Liz Whitbread, Senior Brand Manager for McDonald’s Australia said: ‘Our winter menu is all about giving our customers a seasonal twist on Macca’s iconic flavours.
“Macca’s is bringing smiles, warmth and comfort to the whole family this winter, starring a brand new, hearty UK burger with an Australian twist, paired with a cheesy side dish and delicious banana-flavoured desserts.”

Customers better act quickly if they want to try the Australian take on the British burger, as the offer is only available for a limited time.
The Banana Caramel Pie Chocolate McFlurry also debuts on the winter menu.
The dessert consists of creamy chocolate soft ice cream topped with crispy pieces of pastry filled with creamy banana custard and caramel sauce.
A drizzle of delicious caramel sauce is also added on top.
The popular Banana Caramel Pie has also returned after a four-year hiatus.
Earlier this year, McDonald’s reintroduced the cult favorite Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramello McFlurry across the country.
The delicious dessert consists of soft ice cream, combined with Cadbury chocolate flakes and a delicious twist of caramel sauce.
It became a hit immediately after its launch in 2019 and customers have been looking forward to it ever since.
Customers can now get their hands on the tasty treat at McDonald’s restaurants and via the MyMacca’s App, but only for a limited time. Vanilla and chocolate soft serve options are also available.
