In an effort to make cybersecurity as simple and streamlined as possible, McAfee (opens in new tab) has brought all its ky security products together in one package.

The antivirus powerhouse has announced McAfee+, a new offering that it claims includes all-new privacy, identity, and protection. The company believes that such a solution would allow users to “live confidently and securely online”.

For starters, it includes features such as personal data cleaning (revealing which high-risk data brokers and people-search sites collect and sell customer personal data, delete requests, and track the process throughout), as well as “Unlimited Secure VPN” that automatically connects to public Wi-Fi networks, Ransomware Coverage that reimburses up to $25,000 for losses and ransoms, Credit Lock, which reduces the chances of becoming a victim of identity theft, and much more.

Three plans

Initially only available in the US, McAfee+ offers three different subscription plans for the new product suite: Premium, Advanced and Ultimate, and each of these has both individual and family options.

McAfee+ Premium starts at $49.99 for the first year with an MSRP of $139.99, with the Advanced tier costing $89.99 / first year / MSRP $199.99, and the Ultimate package at $1999, 99 for the first year, MSRP $279.99.

Antivirus (opens in new tab) solutions, firewalls, VPNs and identity theft protection solutions have become essential in the age of increasing cyber-attacks. Threat actors from around the world are using innovative new techniques to trick people into giving away their corporate credentials and later using that data to deploy devastating ransomware on their endpoints (opens in new tab) and target networks.

Large companies, from every industry, suffer huge losses to ransomware operators, often prompting a response from law enforcement and even intelligence agencies. In addition to having good cybersecurity, companies must also ensure that they regularly back up all their vital data and educate their employees about the dangers of phishing and other forms of cyberattacks.
