Maya Jama was stunned as she stepped into the star-studded National Television Awards in London on Thursday.

The presenter, 28, cut a very chic figure in a white one-shoulder dress with a ruffled bodice as she graced the red carpet.

It’s been a busy week for Maya, who has just been confirmed as the new Love Island host, replacing Laura Whitmore.

Glamorous: Maya Jama, 28, stunned as she stepped to the star-studded National Television Awards in London on Thursday

She showed off her incredible figure in the fitted number that clung to her curves before falling to the floor with a small fishtail train.

Maya pulled back her raven locks in a sleek updo and opted for a plump face of bronzed makeup, complete with a matte lipstick.

The red carpet event comes shortly after it was announced that the presenter will host the first of two Love Island series, which will be filmed in South Africa from early 2023.

Maya said in a statement, “I’ve always been such a huge Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the country’s favorite shows! I can’t wait to enter the Villa to meet all the islanders.’

Both Maya and Love Island shared a video scrolling through stories that she was the rumor host on various media outlets to confirm the news.

This year’s NTAs are broadcasting live from a brand new location of Wembley’s OVO Arena with Joel Dommett hosting.

The 2022 National Television Awards saw Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby booed by some audience members, before This Morning was announced as the winner of the Best Daytime Award.

The presenters found themselves at the center of the ‘queue’ controversy’ in September when they were accused of skipping the line to see the Queen in state, which they both denied.

Despite the criticism the broadcasters received, the show still won the Daytime gong, with Phillip saying the award “means so much to us every year, especially this year.”

Coming soon: The ITV2 show will be filmed in South Africa from early 2023

Other notable winners at the ceremony – held at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London – included Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for Best Presenter, Anton Du Beke for TV Judge, Peaky Blinders for Returning Drama and Emmerdale for Serial Drama.

Phillip took the podium after the win and said: ‘Please don’t think we’ll ever get boarding and please don’t think we’ll ever take it for granted. This means so much to us every year, especially this year. We have the best boss.’

Holly added: ‘This morning has a very special relationship with you, you make our show for us, really. All these guys on stage here, Alison [Hammond] and Dermot [O’Leary]Rochelle [Humes] and Vernon [Kay]Josie [Gibson], everybody. Thank you for all your help.’

Role: Maya said in a statement, “I’ve always been such a huge Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the country’s favorite shows!

Sir Lenny Henry received the coveted gold Special Recognition Award at the annual ceremony on Thursday evening.

Sir Lenny has been a TV mainstay for nearly 50 years, starting with his 1975 win over New Faces at the age of 16, leading to further accolades in such era-defining shows as Tiswas and Three of a Kind.

He broke new ground for black talent and then enjoyed huge success with his own sketch comedy series before playing a key role in the formation of Comic Relief.

More recent projects have seen him diversify into acting, most notably on stage as Othello and on screen in the big-budget Amazon Prime series, Lord of the Rings: the Rings of Power.

For the first time ever, the NTAs awarded a TV expert award with nominees Kaleb Cooper, Martin Lewis, Sir David Attenborough and Jay Blades, while money expert Martin took home the trophy.

Emmerdale actor Mark Charnock took home the gong for Serial Drama Performance, with former football player Michael Owen and his Love Island star daughter Gemma presenting the award.

Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke was honored with the TV Judge award for his efforts on the BBC One series.
