Maya Jama took to Instagram on Friday to share how she got through a breakup “years ago” by listening to some of her favorite tunes.
The 28-year-old presenter admitted that she would listen to rapper K-Trap “every morning” and explained that it would stop her from listening only to sad break-up music.
Her post comes after her ex-boyfriend Stormzy, who she broke up with three years ago, described their breakup as “the greatest loss a man can have.”

Maya shared a story with her 2.4 million followers, shared a selfie and wrote: “Fun fact / When I broke up a few years ago I didn’t want to listen to sad/love songs so I would play K-Trap every morning instead (it helped).’
She then shared a screenshot of the rapper’s song Different, where she wrote, “For the girls who haven’t heard it before, I’d start with No Magic, this is a personal favorite with feel yourself lyrics.”
The star, who will host the next season of Love Island, quit her basketball player Ben Simmons earlier this year, citing conflicting schedules.
And prior to their whirlwind romance, Maya was in a four-year relationship with rapper Stormzy – ending in 2019. Her reference in her post to a breakup “several years ago” could have referenced their breakup.

“That’s probably the greatest loss a man can have, isn’t it? Away from someone who dies, that’s the greatest loss you can have.’
Stormzy further hinted at a mistake he made during his four-year relationship with Maya, adding that he never wanted to feel that way again.
