Maya seemed to be in good spirits for the fashion event after clarifying the reasons behind her split from Stormzy.
She spoke out as photos emerged of her ex with his new girlfriend Victoria Monet, who also spoke out about her future family plans this week.
Maya took to Instagram early Thursday from her hotel room in New York to take the opportunity to say that the story “about me not wanting to settle down and have kids is a lie.”

Stormzy and Maya, above in June, confirmed their split was ‘final’ in a statement after previously going their separate ways in 2019 and reconnecting in August last year
It was reported that the former couple split because Maya wanted to focus on her career instead of settling down with the “homebody” rapper.
Stormzy, 31, shocked fans earlier this month when he kissed American singer Victoria Monet at Heathrow Airport – three months after his split from Maya.
Stormzy and Victoria were also spotted enjoying a romantic meal in London on Friday as they left Gauthier Restaurant in Soho, before arriving at the stage door for Michael Jackson The Musical.
Then Victoria, who shares her daughter Hazel, three, with ex John Gaines, appeared to tease on Tuesday that it wouldn’t be long before more babies might be on the cards, joking that she would “contribute to the population next year ‘.
During her appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Victoria was asked ‘how do you feel about your fans telling you that your music is baby music?’ to which the star smiled as she added, “Well, I did make a child.”
She added, “I don’t know if a lot of people know this, but Hazel’s dad is the person in my Moment music video… and we didn’t have her until after that video, so I think they’re not mistaken.”
“But I also don’t mind when my friends press next when my songs are playing in the bedroom, because you know there are limits.”
She then joked: ‘But I do have the feeling that next year I might be able to contribute to the population, you know, just a little bit.’

Stormzy and Maya confirmed their split was ‘final’ in a statement, after previously going their separate ways in 2019 and reconnecting in August last year.
The couple’s statement read: ‘We laughed while writing this because we never, ever in a million years thought we would be the couple announcing a breakup.
“But for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to give us the space and grace necessary for both of us to be able to navigate this next part of our lives with peace, we thought it might be best to doing.
‘We fell madly in love in 2014, broke up in 2019 and then spent five years maneuvering our lives apart.
“We decided to try it for the last time in August 2023, and we’ve been doing our best over the past year to make it work; however, we recently decided to stop using it.
“We were 21 and 20 when we first met – both early in our careers – and we spent five years growing together and five years growing apart, so this latest effort required a lot of figuring out, relearning and unlearning.
“We tried, but it didn’t work, and that’s OK.”
