Max Gawn has revealed a certain AFL player is easy on the eye as he explained his reasoning for his top five stars in the competition.

Melbourne captain Gawn joined Triple M’s Marty Sheargold Show to discuss his side’s surprise defeat to West Coast, where he had a front row seat to watch the Harley Reid show.

Reid scored a sensational goal, carrying the ball from midfield to the forward 50 before firing home, although Gawn was nowhere near the young gun when that magical moment unfolded.

He said: ‘I was on the bench for ‘the’ goal. I saw they weren’t arguing about Clayton and Christian, and I thought, ‘Maybe I’ll take him,’ but yeah, no.”

‘It’s quite unique to be able to play center bounce in the middle of your first year. None of our guys have ever had that opportunity. It’s only going to make him feel like he’s playing against Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in his freshman year, in his ninth game.”

‘I’m happy to be on the other side of the fence and will determine most of his career. It’s going to be a good one.’

Gawn then ranked the players he enjoys most when watching the game, with one of his top five earning his place for non-footy related reasons.

“Number five is Jack Silvagni because he’s the hottest man in the AFL,” Gawn admitted.

“I love watching the hottest man in the AFL, with the hottest dad (Steven Silvagni) in the stands.

‘Number four is Joe Daniher, purely because he lives three hours away from training in Byron Bay, has no TV and collects contested numbers for fun. I understand he has an apartment in Brisbane but lives in a different state to the club.’

Young Gun Reid was also named in the five.

“Number three is Harley Reid; He’s there very early. He is my midfielder of the five.’

“Charlie Curnow (is number) two. Not as good as last year – last year he was incredible – this year he will get there. He knows he’s one of my favorites, I tell him.’

“(Nobody) is close to my number one. Number one is Levi Casboult. Handsome, brutal man. His job is to go out there and record disputed numbers, and that’s all his job is. He just goes out and does it. He’s my age, my year – I’m all for Levi Casboult. (laughs)’
