Mauricio Pochettino says it is not his responsibility to fix Romelu Lukaku’s situation, but refused to rule out his situation changing.
Lukaku is out in the cold and training with the Chelsea under-21s after making it clear he wants to leave following his return from a loan spell at Inter Milan last season.
But there is no candidate for Lukaku yet, with only a week left in the transfer window.
He burned his bridges with Inter by agreeing to join their rivals Juventus, but they would have to sack their striker Dusan Vlahovic to sign Lukaku, although Chelsea are not keen on the Serb.
Chelsea wanted Lukaku to join the exodus of Stamford Bride players to Saudi Arabia earlier this summer, but he was unwilling to make such a move.

Pochettino said of Lukaku, who signed a record £97.5 million two years ago: ‘If the player and the club want to find a solution, it’s not up to me, it’s up to them.
In that case, the player and the club will meet and inform me that things have changed. I will not move until the club or the player wants to talk to me.
“I am here, I accept the situation that was here when I arrived. We arrived on July 3 and knew the situation.
“The future can change things. Life can change. I saw (Liverpool manager Jurgen) Klopp say I’m not going to work in this business if we have to pay £100 million.

‘And then they offered £100 million and he said ‘Oh, I made a mistake’. That’s the same situation.
“In football, the dynamics are fast and changing, and we have to move on. Today nothing has changed. If something changes, do we adapt to the situation?
“I am frustrated with the situation, but not with the club, because they are not trying to find a solution.
“Maybe with a solution we can add another player or another solution to the team, but I’m not frustrated about that because I knew it was going to be difficult.”
