What a shameful end to a shameful presidency.
Rather than exit the presidential race with dignity and show long-suffering Americans the respect we deserve, President Joe Biden has hastily declared on social media that he is dropping out.
Joe Biden ghosted us!
LBJ in 1968 is not. In fact, this retreat—in tone, tenor, shame, and bitterness—recalls none other than Richard Nixon’s resignation.
Biden has humiliated himself, the nation, the Democratic elite, megadonors and the liberal media that have supported him for years.
And he didn’t even initially support his VP! Someone had to clean up Aisle 9 on X with a hasty follow-up Kamala support tweet.
Rather than exit the presidential race with dignity and show patient Americans the respect we deserve, President Joe Biden quickly declared on social media that he was dropping out.
“I believe it is in the best interests of my party and the country that I step down,” his letter read. Finally!
Doctor Jill has to be under heavy sedation.
Her personal account on X, as of this writing, still has the banner “Let’s get the job done.” She could only bring herself to retweet her husband’s letter with no comments of her own, just a love heart emoji.
Stay classy, Jill and Joe.
Sunday afternoon’s announcement came so suddenly that one wonders whether it was released before Biden could change his mind.
Before Hunter could fly back from his Malibu mansion. Before Barack Obama would be forced to deliver the fatal push.
Announcements of this magnitude are typically preceded by a warning to the media. Early reports are that Biden’s top campaign aides were kept in the dark, with a handful told only a minute before anyone hit publish.
It all raises even more questions.
Like: Who wrote it? When was it written? Was it his own decision, or was he forced to?
Why didn’t Biden, like LBJ before him, announce his monumental decision to resign during a prime-time address from the Oval? Is he that far gone — unable to read prepared signals from a teleprompter?
Who runs this country?
This is really the only question that matters.
Yet in this formative letter, which is all about self-aggrandizement, claiming that he has pulled an FDR act on the American economy and saying that he has left the country better than he found it — “America has never been better positioned to lead than it is today” — Biden says he will serve out the rest of his term.
Yes, Joe Biden’s focus — something he no longer has control over between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. — is now “on discharging the duties of President” through January.
Read this, my friends, in a hoarse Joe Biden whisper: He can’t do it.
This man has no business being in the most important job on the planet. He has no business being in the nuclear codes. He needs to resign immediately, hand the keys over to Kamala, and prepare for what should be a full investigation into the cover-up of his health and cognitive decline.
Shame on the Obamas, the Clintons, Nancy Pelosi and all the lawmakers who knew the truth and kept their mouths shut.
Shame on all the journalists who stood face to face with the President and refused to expose the biggest political scandal since Watergate.
And shame on the Democrats if they try to keep Joe in the White House. He shouldn’t be there another day. Who in the White House press pool will finally confront this corrupt administration?
It won’t be the useful idiots in the liberal media, like Van Jones, who spoke on CNN Sunday afternoon about Biden’s “honor” in withdrawing.
The New York Times op-eds, which have probably been in the pipeline for weeks:
“Biden made a courageous choice.”
“What Joe Biden just did is absolutely extraordinary.”
‘The size and scope of Biden’s sacrifice.’
Obama, Biden’s personal Brutus: a ‘patriot of the highest order’.
This was never about Joe Biden. No one cares if their feelings get hurt. This is about the safety and security of this country, which Biden — in his megalomania and greed — has endangered.
So please: spare us.
At the end of this shameful letter, Biden condescendingly tells us that “we just have to remember that we are the United States of America.”
We know that, Joe. We know that.
‘Remembering’ is a very beautiful word.
After all, the only person who needs to be reminded that we are America, a democracy that elects its leaders and not shadow governments, is President Biden (for now).
