MAUREEN CALLAHAN: Shame on the abhorrent A-listers who have just done the most egregious thing imaginable amid the LA fires (but is anyone shocked?)

Well, that didn’t last long.

Celebrities have once again proven that no tragedy or massacre can humiliate them. No amount of collective human loss will bring them down to our level.

Exhibit A: America’s former lover, Mandy Moore.

As the LA wildfires rage on, the 40-year-old actress is begging for money on Instagram.

Yes, the star of “This Is Us,” a ratings giant that earned her $23 million during the show’s six seasons, wants average Americans to donate to her own family members.

Check out Moore’s obnoxious, tone-deaf, downright obscene Instagram post, in which she promotes a GoFundMe for her adult in-laws, one of whom is a “traveling musician” with a baby on the way.

Maybe he should get a real job. Just a thought.

By the way, the targeted fundraising goal for these two privileged, hipster Angelenos is: $60,000.

Please. That’s the equivalent of change in Moore’s undoubtedly custom sofa cushions.

It doesn’t matter. Here’s what she wrote in that bullshit post, defending herself against critics who say she has enough money to help her family:

‘People who wonder whether we help our own family or donate an arbitrary amount to Google [sic] saying someone did that is NOT helpful or empathetic.”

Of course not, Mandy. That’s the point.

Why should or can we sympathize with you? Empathy is the result of experiencing the exact same circumstances.

Most of us aren’t sitting on $23 million.

America turned Mandy Moore, a mediocre talent at best, into a multi-millionaire. She will never have to work another day in her life. She and her family can live like royalty on her substantial passive income.

Yet she has the sheer audacity to ask honest, hard-working, ordinary people with little to no resources to fund her in-laws – while spewing outrage at anyone who is rightfully offended!

This post is incredible. She didn’t even turn off the comments, which is the case devastating.

An example:

‘The guts’.

“I just lost my crummy one-bedroom apartment that I owned and worked super hard for. . . but do I have a go fund me no! I have struggled and followed my own path.’

“You’re a multi-millionaire, figure it out.”

“You have an obscene amount of money. I think you can help your own family and some others while you’re at it.”

‘Just the nerve’.

“Did their bank account burn down too?”

Friends, I don’t think Mandy reads these comments. If so, she clearly doesn’t care.

She continues:

‘Our friend Matt started this go fund me’ – so don’t blame her, even if it’s her post! – ‘and I’m sharing it because people have asked how they can help them’.

Real? People ask how they can help a couple they’ve never heard of who is related to one of LA’s richest A-listers? Okay. Certainly.

“We also just lost most of our lives to a fire,” she wrote.

Here’s the difference, Mandy: You can easily rebuild it, insured or not. You can build back better and bigger or move your family anywhere in the world. Almost everyone who has lost everything cannot.

Most people have nothing left. Unbowed, Moore concludes with this salvo:

‘Please F away. Nobody forces you to do anything.”

You know what, Mandy? You friendly ‘f’ out. ‘F’ allll down the road.

Let’s hope this is an extinction-level reputation-defining event that Moore and her fellow heartless celebs — like Khloe Kardashian — never recover from. Khloe (reported net worth: $60 million) who oh so proudly announced that she has donated $2,500 worth of meals to first responders.

Wow.

Or Khloe’s equally vulgar sister Kim, who was promoting “WINTER SALE” prices for her Skims line — replete with sex doll photos of Kim bursting out of her underwear — when LA burned to the ground Tuesday night.

Irrelevant one-time reality star Heidi Montag filmed herself crying and holding her two-year-old son for clicks and likes.

“I just want to go home,” she whined.

Cost of said house: $3 million. Tell your psychiatrist, lady.

JLo, who currently has a $60 million Beverly Hills mansion on the market, encouraged her followers to donate. Stop this. JLo: Just take some of your millions, donate yourself, and stop telling the little people – who can barely afford groceries in this economy – what to do.

Even Henry Winkler, once known as the nicest man in show business, wrote this, about a suspected local arsonist, on [until] You [are] unrecognizable!!!’

And celebrities wonder why America is increasingly unable to use them. Why we have zero interest in being lectured by a bunch of rich, famous hypocrites about how to live, what to think, and who to vote for.

This is who they really are behind the mask. The truth is ugly.

Same with the media. David Muir of ABC ‘News’ – what a joke – preens as Zoolander in his tight-fitting, oversized fire jacket amid smoldering ruins.

Or CNN’s Anderson Cooper ‘defying’ the LA wildfires. The first rule of journalism: it’s not about you, the reporter. It should never be about you.

There is absolutely no reason why these overpaid, perfectly manicured anchors should fly in from the East Coast. Drones can do this.

Muir, Cooper and their ilk are there for one reason only: their own vanity.

Maybe all these celebrities and news anchors could, I don’t know, use their influence to demand answers from local and state government, from Mayor Karen Bass to cowardly Governor Gavin Newsom (last seen walking away from an irate mother from LA in broad daylight).

Maybe they can shut up and stay off social media for a few measly days.

Maybe they can engage in their favorite pastime and “recognize” their “privilege” as they hole up in the Beverly Hills Hotel and share war stories over that famous $44 McCarthy salad.

And maybe, just maybe, they can show some respect for those less fortunate, whose lives will never be the same.

If not, why don’t they at least do what they are so handsomely paid to do: Fake it.

Because that certainly trumps the alternative.
