Maura Higgins withdrew from the British Fashion Awards at the last minute in a “nightmare” turn of events after deciding her daring outfit was “not very appropriate” for the A-list occasion.
The Love Island star, 32, was preparing to mingle with the great and good of the fashion world on Monday night, but “decided not to go” minutes before the red carpet after not feeling comfortable in her custom made dress dress.
The Irish TV star shared an Instagram clip from her hotel room, wearing a full face of makeup and the dress in question, which she said she had ‘zero control’ over.

Maura styled her long brunette hair as she revealed that she was “still at the hotel” when fans asked where she was.
Maura said, ‘So guys, everyone’s texting me like, ‘Where are they and where are the red carpet photos?’ I’ve had a bit of a nightmare.
‘Obviously you can see that I’m completely ready. The Glam team is ready as always. Basically…the dress, the shoes, everything was not something she would wear.
“I really don’t know what to say, it’s like, I feel like it’s not very appropriate for the Fashion Awards.

Smiling as she held up a one-piece sign, Maura revealed that designer Scott Henshall was behind the dress of which she disapproved.
