Matty Healy’s controversial porn comments resurface as fans beg Taylor Swift to end romance

Matty Healy’s controversial podcast comments from earlier this year have resurfaced during his high-profile romance with Taylor Swift.

The 1975 frontman discussed a time when he masturbated to “brutalized” women during a performance on porn. The Adam Friedland Show podcast in February.

Friedland and his co-host Nick Mullen raised an incident where Friedland and a woman walked into Healy masturbating to what they described as “hardcore pornography” “30 seconds” after leaving a party at Healy’s house.

The trio said Matty, 34, watched Ghetto Gaggers, a porn site known for videos depicting the humiliation and abuse of mostly black women.

Friedland explained how he and a friend went back to Healy’s house after leaving the party when she realized she had forgotten her water bottle.

“She went back in and Matty, like, on his phone and then on his 77-inch OLEDs, just got Ghetto Gaggers blaring,” Friedland said. “Thirty seconds after the hang, just hardcore pornography.”

Healy laughed as he told the podcast hosts: “It wasn’t just the… it was the combination of the fact that it, you’re not exaggerating, it was 30 seconds. Like, you were still waiting outside, she came back in, I was already confused.”

“I was dressed as ‘guy jerking off’, so I had a loose shirt on. Like you said, I think it was literally Ghetto Gaggers on TV. It’s just someone who’s just being mistreated,” Healy continued.

He later added of the girlfriend who walked in on him, “It wasn’t a cool New York art girl. It was little Olive, coming in like, “I’m so sorry, I’m just getting my water!”

“Ten minutes would have been fine,” he said in reference to how long it had been since his guests left. “But 30 seconds was almost… I was afraid that would be offensive.”

A clip from the podcast has been circulating online, with many Taylor Swift fans calling on the American star to ditch her new beau.

“Seriously, it feels like she’s trying to get canceled again,” another person wrote Reddit. “How does she like this?” asked another fan.

Another post: “If a bunch of strangers on the internet know that Matty Healy is watching racist torture porn, HOW would Taylor not know? She’s known that man for TEN YEARS and she doesn’t know how problematic and horrible he is? Yes, I don’t believe that at all.’

MailOnline has reached out to representatives for Healy and Swift for comment.

In the same podcast episode, Healy was accused of racism for comments about the rapper Ice Spice.

Healy claimed he tried to message the rapper on Instagram, but Healy along with Friedland and Mullen seemed to confuse her heritage by referring to her as Inuit and Chinese, imitating and mocking the accents of each.

The podcast episode was later pulled from both Spotify and Apple Music due to its offensive content.

Healy apologized for the comments about Ice Spice during a 1975 concert in New Zealand.

The musician told the audience, as reported by Rolling Stone, that he “makes a joke of everything” and “can sometimes go too far in front of too many people.”

Love story: Taylor and Matty were first linked in 2014, but they only confirmed their romance this year (Taylor seen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania this month)

Healy was forced to deactivate his Twitter in 2020 after posting a poorly received tweet following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a white Minneapolis police officer.

Healy tweeted at the time, “If you truly believe ‘ALL LIVES MATTER’ you need to stop facilitating the end of the black,” along with a link to his track Love It If We Made It.

The tie-in angered many fans as they felt the singer was using the tragic death as a promotional tool.
