‘I’m sure people have called me a**t’: Matty Healy alludes to a breakup with Taylor Swift on the last show… after it was revealed they weren’t exclusive
Taylor Swift’s rumored ex Matty Healy appeared to explain the couple’s split during his latest concert.
Swift, 33, and The 1975 rocker, 34, shocked the world when their romance was revealed in May amid speculation they had been dating for weeks – but a friend close to the star confirmed Taylor was ‘single’ again on Monday used to be.
And now Healy alluded to the breakup as he took the stage with his band and noticed several signs of fans expressing their support and love for him.
“My friend had some really, really nice signs that said, ‘You are loved,'” he told the crowd while pointing to the fan in the crowd, as seen in a Twitter video. “That was very, very nice of you.”
“I’m sure that alludes to…” he began to say, before stopping. “As you know I’m not very online right now and I’m sure people have called me ruthless,” he joked.

“I haven’t been online, but what I’ve been with is my boys,” he continued.
“And honestly, as much as I appreciate that, it’s so beautiful, and I thank you. But I don’t need them, because I have them,” he concluded.
It was revealed earlier in the day that the two were “never boyfriend and girlfriend” as the singer “sowed her oats” during the brief fling following her split from Joe Alwyn, according to new reports.
It was claimed that the romance was never as serious as many thought, that the pair were never even exclusive and that Taylor and Matty will be friends again – despite reports that they were ‘madly in love’ and planning to move in together.
A source told People: ‘She had fun with him, but it was always casual. They are no longer romantically involved.”
Another insider said, “They were never boyfriend-girlfriend or exclusive and were always just having fun. There is no drama, and who knows what could happen again. It was a good time and it ran its course.
“Taylor is doing great – her focus is now on her tour. Since Matty is also on tour, they won’t be able to see each other at all. They have been friends for years and decided to just become friends again. Nothing complicated happened. It’s just life.’
A third source said the pair “still care about each other” and are “still friends.”
