New owner of Matthew Perry’s LA home poses for photos next to pool where actor’s body was found

The new owner of the Los Angeles home where Matthew Perry lived and died has broken her silence on the $8.55 million purchase.

Property developer Anita Verma-Lallian, 42, shared photos from next to the same pool where the actor’s body was found and spoke of how “excited” she was to share the news – days after it was revealed the house was being bought.

At first she admitted that the property has “a history,” but she recalled how she and her husband fell in love with the home’s “features” — citing “the view of the Pacific Ocean.”

The view can only be fully experienced in the infinity pool where the Friend star was found just over a year ago, face down after overdosing on ketamine.

“We knew it was ‘the one’ and decided to make an offer on it immediately,” she continued, sharing photos from just a few feet away.

“We were so lucky that our Panditji from Arizona came to the house to do the blessing,” she further added, producing clips of the poolside procession.

“We chose to honor the positive aspects of the previous owner’s life,” she continued.

‘[H]is an enormous talent and all the joy he has brought to so many people.’

The long-winded post went on to detail how she and her husband planned to keep the Tony property in Pacific Palisades largely as is, save for the occasional makeover.

“The decision to buy the house had nothing to do with the previous owner, only our love,” wrote the woman featured in publications such as Forbes.

“We plan to keep some design elements. The Batman logo in the pool will definitely remain.”

The final statement, capped by a laughing emoji, was in reference to one of the many examples of Batman imagery throughout the 3,500-square-foot home: an ode to his favorite superhero.

The sitcom star therefore referred to himself as ‘Mattman’ in social media posts, including the nighttime photo of him in the pool, posted on October 23, 2023.

The photo would prove to be his last, and within five days the man who made waves in the late 1990s and early 2000s as the sarcastic Chandler Bing on the program was declared dead.

The day before, he wrote next to a video of the moon: “Do you understand what I’m trying to tell you? – I’m Mattman.’

The day after, the 54-year-old posted on X: ‘Let’s turn stigmas into stigmas. -I’m Mattman #mentalhealth.’

Perry had purchased the four-bedroom property in 2020, before living there for more than three years.

At the time it cost $6 million, with Verma-Lallian paying a premium four years later.

In her post, she said she plans to use the property as a “vacation home,” as she currently lives in Paradise Valley – an upscale mountain town east of Phoenix.

There she runs Camelback Productions, a company she bills as the state’s first female-owned and South Asian-owned film production company.

She founded it after a successful stint in the real estate industry, which began in 2007 at a leading land banking and homebuilding company in Phoenix owned by her family.

Verma-Lallian said she plans to use the property as a “holiday home” and praised the pool and views. It was first built in 1965 as a modest ranch-style home

She wrote about the house on Thursday: ‘It is a piece of paradise full of light and the perfect holiday home for us.

‘I can’t wait to make new memories in it.’

Perry’s death, meanwhile, was ruled an accident due to the acute effects of ketamine, days after his very last Instagram post was a shot of him enjoying the hot tub he died in as the lights of the city twinkled behind him.

Contributing factors to his death were drowning and coronary artery disease.
