Matthew Perry appeared on the jennifer hudson show on Thursday, where he opened up about why he sometimes finds it “painful” to watch Friends.

The actor, 53, sported a navy blazer over a black T-shirt and pants as he walked through the holiday-themed studio in an Instagram snap shared on his account.

Hudson also shared a clip of the star, who just topped the NY Times best seller list, on his page, where the actor talked about how “difficult” it is for him to watch. the iconic TV series, which was filmed on the same lot as Hudson’s show.

“Oh, it feels amazing to be back here,” he replied, adding, “I’ve been here for 11 years… I miss everyone.”

Elsewhere in the interview he talked about dating Julia Roberts, 55, and how their courtship happened with the help of ‘fax machines’.

“Somewhere in the world there’s like a stack of courtship faxes,” he explained, adding: “I’d stand there with a friend and we’d see the next piece of paper coming in. It was very exciting.”

It comes after the five-time Emmy nominee recently echoed similar sentiments while discussing the reason he never sees reruns of his hit sitcom, which ran for 10 seasons on NBC from 1994 to 2004.

“I was on Friends, being watched by 30 million people, and that’s why I can’t watch the show. I was like brutally skinny and the disease was hitting me a lot,” said the Massachusetts-born star, who just topped the NY Times best-seller list with his memoir Friends, Lovers And The Big Terrible Thing. ‘I could tell season after season by how I looked, and I don’t think anyone else can, but I certainly could. That’s why I don’t want to see it because that’s what I see, that’s what I notice when I look at it.

In the past, Matthew, who kept his drug abuse a secret, has said he drank alcohol when he was overweight, pills like Vicodin when he was skinny and even worse when he sported a goatee on the show.

Perry, whose colon erupted from opioids in 2018, was paid ‘seven figures’ to detail his extensive history of alcohol and drug abuse in his new 256-page account.

“Not many books have come out on the addict’s side…certainly not from someone who’s been on one of their favorite shows,” explained the twice-recovered star, who got sober last year.

Perry, who received a Champion of Recovery award in 2013 for opening Perry House sober living (which has since closed), has also battled addictions to methadone and amphetamines.

Perry’s memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing was released on November 1.
