Matthew McConaughey shares rare photos with youngest son Livingston on his 12th birthday
Matthew McConaughey gave fans a rare look at his son Livingston as he celebrated the boy’s 12th birthday in true Texas style.
The 55-year-old Oscar winner posted two heartwarming snapshots of the bond between their father and son on Instagram on Saturday during a football game at the University of Texas – McConaughey’s alma mater.
One snapshot showed the duo cheering on the Texas Longhorns from the end zone with their arms around each other.
Another showed a quieter moment on the sidelines, with Matthew leaning in and seemingly offering heartfelt advice to his birthday boy.
“A dozen of them, my son and teammate,” McConaughey proudly captioned the post. ‘Here’s to many more victories in life. With love, Dad.”
Livingston is one of three children McConaughey shares with his wife Camila Alves, along with 16-year-old Levi and 14-year-old Vida.

Matthew also added in an Instagram Stories post: “Congratulations Livingston.”
The birthday celebration comes after McConaughey said he believes parenthood has made him a better actor.
“I know having children has made me a better artist and a better actor. Children always see things for the first time,” he explained People.
‘Their questions are innocent. Having children has made me a better storyteller.”
The actor voiced Buster Moon the koala in Sing and its sequel to give his children a chance to enjoy his work for once.
It was a particularly meaningful moment for him when they realized his role in the films.
He said, ‘Yes, it was fun…. And as they got older, there’s nothing I made that they could see.
‘As you get older, you mainly look at what your children are watching. And so I thought, ‘Man, I’ve never been part of an animated film before and I love voice work,’ and so I went and did that.”

Originally from Itambacuri, Brazil, Alves moved to New York City at the age of 19 to pursue modeling, eventually landing in top fashion magazines.
She met Matthew in 2006, and they married in 2012 in a private Catholic ceremony in Austin, Texas.
Born in Texas, McConaughey rose to fame with Dazed and Confused (1993) and rose to leading man status with hits such as A Time to Kill (1996) and his Oscar-winning role in Dallas Buyers Club (2013).
The couple teamed up in 2023 to launch their organic tequila brand Pantalones.
