Matt Shirvington alarms co-host Natalie Barr with worrying text as he sends her live map of his location

Matt Shirvington scared his Sunrise co-host Natalie Barr when he sent her a very alarming message on Tuesday.

The conversation between the TV presenter and his 56-year-old fellow breakfast presenter was shared on Instagram by Sunrise producer Sean Power on Thursday.

Matt worried his two colleagues when he texted them a PIN code for his live location via their group chat, without any context.

Natalie showed her unwavering support for her co-host by asking if it was a call for help, then offering to run to the scene of the accident with a baseball bat.

Her message read: ‘Is this a silent call or what Shirv. I’m the closest and I have a car. And a baseball bat.’

After producer Sean posted the exchange on Instagram, Matt reassured his fans by resharing the screenshot, adding, “Oops – by the way, I’m fine.”

Matt and Natalie have won over legions of fans since their joint debut last June on Sunrise thanks to their endearing co-hosting.

The Olympic sprinter joined the morning talk show over a year ago as Natalie’s new co-host, after veteran host David Koch left.

Their friendship, however, has existed for longer than their appearance together on the series. Natalie recently spoke about their long-standing bond.

“He’s the kind of guy who just fits in. He’s a really nice, normal guy with a silly, fatherly sense of humour,” she told the Sydney Morning Herald last year.

Natalie explained that they often saw each other at events and “always got along really well” before working together on Sunrise.

The presenters regularly make each other laugh with funny anecdotes in the show and have quickly become a popular TV team among fans.
