Matt Healy’s father broke his silence on Thursday amid rumors of his son’s romance with Taylor Swift when he hit back at a troll.
According to The sun, the Benidorm actor, 71, took to Twitter to respond to someone reacting to the prospect of the Love Story singer’s in-laws being Denise Welch and Tim Healy.
The now-deleted tweet read, “The thought of Denise Welch and Tim Healy being Taylor Swift’s in-laws is very, very funny.”
His response to the troll was very simple, one word: “Why?” according to the Sun.
Matt’s mother Denise, 64, is a Loose Women panellist and was formerly married to Tim.

It comes after it was revealed that Taylor and Matty will reportedly take their romance public this weekend with an on-stage appearance.
The relationship between the pop star and the 1975 frontman was revealed this week, shortly after her divorce from six-year boyfriend Joe Alwin was announced.
However, the lovestruck couple are said to be thrilled to ‘make their love public’, with Matty, 34, reportedly set to join Taylor, 33, onstage as a special guest at her show in Nashville on her Eras tour .
According to The sunMatty will perform two of Taylor’s songs, following in her footsteps when she sang two songs from 1975 at their London gig in February.
A source told the publication: “Taylor and Matty have been planning their ‘coming out’ for a few weeks now and are very excited to make their love public.
“Neither of them wants secrets, or hiding. The plan is for Matty to walk on stage halfway through the show and play two songs.
“They’ll be chatting to the public and currently they’re supposed to confirm their romance with some kind of PDA — public display of affection. It won’t be anything cheesy though.’

It comes as Matty reportedly divorced model Meredith Mickelson just weeks before he started dating Taylor.
The singer is said to have romanced the 23-year-old model, who has built up a large following on social media, before they split in February.
A source told The sun“Matty saw Meredith when he was in LA in February — but things got out of hand when he went to New York at the end of the month,” an insider says.
“They’re still on good terms, but haven’t been romantically involved since.”
Meredith has more than 3 million followers on Instagram and is said to live mainly between Los Angeles and Paris.

The singer is said to be ‘madly in love’ with Matty after their long friendship blossomed into a romance.
The duo – who first met in 2014 – are now gearing up to take their romance public at her concert in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday, reports The sun.
The news of the new romance comes just weeks after it was revealed that Taylor had split from her boyfriend of six years Joe, 32, after the couple ‘struggled’ with their ‘career differences’.
But despite the short turnaround, Taylor is said to be ‘madly in love’ with Matt – the son of Loose Women star Denise Welch and Benidorm actor Tim Healy.
The rumored romance with Matt is the latest in a string of British boyfriends for Taylor, who – as well as her last relationship with Joe – has dated Harry Styles, Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston.
An insider told the publication, “She and Matty are madly in love.

The source further stressed that there was no crossover in Taylor’s love life, despite the news that she had split last month, and insisted that the couple actually split in February.
Taylor is currently in the middle of the US leg of her The Eras Tour, while The 1975 is on their At Their Very Best concert tour, but the source insisted they kept in constant contact through texting and Face Timing.
The source added: ‘As two international megastars, they understand the pressures of each other’s jobs better than anyone and are incredibly supportive of their respective careers.
They are both extremely proud and excited about this relationship and, unlike Taylor’s last – which was purposely kept very much out of the limelight – she wants to ‘own’ this romance, not hide it.
“Taylor just wants to live her life and be happy. She’s heard friends are flying Matty to Nashville this weekend to support her on the next leg of her tour.”
