Matt Gaetz is mercilessly trolled after debuting dramatic transformation at the RNC: ‘I thought he was against drag?’
Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz has been subjected to a lot of online ridicule after debuting a brand new look at the Republican National Convention, sparking rumors that he had undergone Botox or surgery.
The 42-year-old man raised eyebrows during his speech at the RNC on Wednesday, leading many to wonder if he had undergone surgery.
Matt, whose career has been marred by scandal, showed off his dramatic brows, full cheeks and radiant tan as he stepped onto the stage, a drastic change from his usual look.
Immediately after his appearance, Matt’s wrinkle-free face and arched eyebrows became the subject of jokes and speculation about Botox.
People across the internet took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to troll the congressman, along with fellow party member Rep. Derrick Van Orden, even joking that Matt looked like a “sex doll.”

Photos of Matt at the RNC circulated online, with hilarious captions, many of whom couldn’t help but praise his “plastic surgeon.”
Even former Navy SEAL Van Orden got in on the jokes.
Alongside an unflattering photo of Matt, who was accused last month of “sexual misconduct and illegal drug use” (accusations he denies), he teased: “RNC to debut first AI-powered inflatable sex doll to speak at national convention.”
Someone else added: ‘Matt Gaetz looks like the title screen of Mario 64 if you pull all the facial features as far back as possible.’
Someone else compared him to an ‘Animorphs cover’, while another user said he looked like Robbie from the children’s series LazyTown.
A user then chimed in: ‘Matt Gaetz is two white tigers and a life partner [away] of a Vegas act.’
Claudia Conway, the daughter of Donald Trump’s former adviser Kellyanne Conway, also participated, but joked, “I thought Matt Gaetz was against drag, but it seems like he’s warmed up to it now.”
Meanwhile, another user joked: ‘Sorry to disagree with everyone, but I think Matt Gaetz’s plastic surgeon did a good job.
‘He enhanced the creepy pedo look that always reflected his true inner self, while still maintaining the extreme punchiness on his face.’ [sic]

Others shared photos of him before and after his procedures, captioning the pre-RNC photo “Housewives in their first season” and the after photo “Housewives in their tenth season.”
Someone else commented: ‘Okay, I’m MAGA, but this is kind of funny.’
Plastic surgery expert Dr. Michael Salzhauer told the Miami New Times that it looked like the congressman had a “combination of a thread lift and some makeup.”
Former President Donald Trump was greeted with chants of “fight, fight, fight” at the RNC as he walked into the Republican convention on Saturday, just two days after surviving an assassination attempt.
The former president wore a bandage over his right ear, where Thomas Matthew Crooks’ bullet hit his skin.
After officially securing his nomination and naming Senator JD Vance as his running mate, Trump stopped by for a party.

Matt made headlines in April when former chairman Kevin McCarthy said he had lost his job because he wouldn’t help Matt cover up “his sex with a 17-year-old.”
“I’ll tell you the truth about why I’m not president,” Kevin said during a talk at Georgetown University titled “How Strong Is Our Democracy?”
“It’s because one person, a member of Congress, wanted me to drop an ethics complaint because he slept with a 17-year-old,” the California Republican continued. “Did he do it or didn’t he? I don’t know.”
Kevin has long accused Matt of filing the historic resignation motion that saw him removed from the chairmanship last year amid an ongoing ethics investigation into his conduct.
Matt fired back at the speaker’s accusation on X: “Kevin McCarthy is a liar. That’s why he’s not speaker anymore. Just ask the 224 people who voted to remove him.”
