Matt Damon reveals ‘major adjustment’ in his family’
Matt Damon said the family dynamic has changed since his eldest daughter Isabella, 18, left home and went to college.
Matt is the father of daughters Isabella (18), Gia (15) and Stella (13) and his wife Luciana (48). He also has daughter Alexia (26) from a previous relationship.
Matt, 53, spoke with E! News at Stella Artois’ Let’s Do Dinner event in New York City about the family’s adjustment after Isabella left for college, explaining, “We have a 26-year-old [Alexia]so we’ve been through this before, but it’s still a big adjustment for us and her sisters.”
Addition: ‘It is a different household with one less person. So it is a big adjustment.’

In August, Matt spoke about his daughters and what it means to be a father of a girl in an interview with Andy Cohen during his appearance on SiriusXM Show Radio Andy.
When asked what his best advice is for being a daughter father, Matt told Andy, “Oh man, I don’t know. I wouldn’t give anyone any advice other than I just try to listen and be supportive. I mean, at the end of the day, it’s all about building confidence,” via People.
And he added, ‘You know that 99% of the decisions they make, you’re not going to be there, right?’
Andy asked him how he would react if they brought home a guy they were dating. He asked, ‘What kind of father are you if they brought home a guy and said, “I’m going to date this…”‘
Matt said, ‘Oh, I’m fine. I’m fine with that. You know what I mean?’
The actor is from Boston and Andy asked him if he uses “Boston” for his daughter’s love interests.
“You don’t act all Boston and say, ‘What are you doing with my daughter?'”
“No, no, no. That’s an old cliché that I think people, you know, like to play on. You know, dads sometimes joke about it, but no,” Matt said.

Luciana remembers people recognizing him and asking for photos and autographs, so Matt hid behind the bar.
“It got quite aggressive because people were drinking and stuff,” she said.
‘He came and hid behind the bar… [wanting to] just hanging back there and having a drink. He says, “Oh, I saw you and I really wanted to talk to you.”
Luciana said she told him that if he’s behind the counter, he can’t just stand there and put him to work.
“He had trained as a bartender for a movie years before, so he started making drinks. And he made a lot of tips that night, because of course everyone wanted to see him,” she said.
“It turned out to be a really nice evening and now, 15 years later, here we are,” she added.
Matt and Luciana met in April 2003, became engaged in September 2005, and married on December 9, 2005.

In June 2006, they welcomed their first child Isabella together, in August 2008 their second daughter Gia and in October 2010 their third daughter Stella.
During his interview on Radio, Andy said that his daughter Alexia’s boyfriend is “incredible” and that he and Luciana “adore” him.
At least you know our [25-year-old] “You know, she has an incredible boyfriend that Lucy and I adore. We adore that guy and to see her make those choices is just the best thing ever,” Matt told Andy.
