Match Officials: Mic’d Up – Premier League in-game audio to be shown in new programme on Sky Sports

In-game audio from Premier League match officials will be broadcast in a new program on Aerial sports.

The second episode of Match officials: microphone in place featuring PGMOL chief Howard Webb and former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen will be broadcast on Sky Sports Premier League Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.

The series aims to explain refereeing decisions using never-before-seen match footage and audio.

Webb joined Aerial sports experts Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher at the start of the season on a revolutionary edition of Monday Night Football to explain several VAR calls.

PGMOL boss Howard Webb is confident the standard of refereeing will continue to improve and promises to acknowledge and correct any errors.

Aerial sports went behind the curtain with Webb to explain the VAR process using both correct and incorrect calls in a bid to increase transparency around one of the most controversial aspects of the game.

“We are committed to being more transparent,” Webb said of Monday Night Football. “We know and recognize that people want more information about refereeing processes, especially with the advent of VAR.

“We want to show spectators what goes into making decisions on the pitch and how VAR works. We have a group of professional officials working hard to have a positive impact on the match.”
