Match of the Day ‘will NOT interview any managers on Saturday’ as mass boycotts continue in solidarity with sacked presenter Gary Lineker… after Premier League ‘informs all clubs playing today that they will not be receiving interview requests ‘
No managers will be interviewed by Match of the Day on Saturday as mass boycotts in solidarity with Gary Lineker continue to disrupt the nations flagship football spectacle, according to reports.
Lineker, 62, was temporarily removed as host of Match of the Day on Friday after the BBC ruled that his ‘Nazi’ mocking tweet comparing Home Office immigration policy to 1930s Germany violated fairness rules.
Match of the Day regulars Ian Wright and Alan Shearer quickly stepped out of their pundit roles in support of Lineker, prompting mass walkouts from other pundits, commentators, and even players.
The Premier League has now informed the 12 clubs playing on Saturday that Match of the Day will not request post-match interviews with managers or players, according to BBC sports editor Dan Roan.
