MasterChef viewers rolled their eyes over a “pretentious” meal served on Thursday’s episode.
The group was tasked with whipping up some desserts to impress the judges as finals week approaches.
Terri, 30, from County Down, Northern Ireland cooked a ‘snowball’ dessert of rice pudding coated in white chocolate.
To create a ‘colder’ experience for the judges, they were all presented with headphones playing wintry sounds while they ate.
It seemed to have an effect on the guests, as one of them remarked, “You get so cold you crave something warm to warm you up.”

John Torode also had high praise for Terri after he tasted the dish, saying, “Wow, that’s so good.” Inside an extraordinary taste of rice pudding, but a white chocolate shell.’
But the quirky setup didn’t sit well with viewers who were both confused and unimpressed by the “annoying” setup.
One fan wrote on Twitter, “Jeez this food and the concept of it all is so ridiculously pretentious. No, thank you.’
Another commented, “This #MasterChef meal looks INCREDIBLY boring!” while another asked, “What’s the matter?”
A fourth viewer quipped, “I think I want a pair of #MasterChef headphones.”
Terri said of her cooking style: ‘My cooking style is classic Irish/British/French food with a modern twist using flavors from all over the world, particularly Japan.
‘My food is inspired by places, people, ingredients and experiences. I love trying out a new dish in a restaurant and making my own version of it.’
When asked about her future aspirations, she added: ‘The dream…to become a food critic. Who doesn’t want to eat for a living? On a side note, I would really like a career in the food industry.

‘I really enjoy writing recipes, trying weird and delicious flavor combinations and would love to work in a professional kitchen.
“Who knows what the future holds for me, but somehow I want it to be food related.”
At the end of the episode, Judge Greg Wallace said, “Our five will never be the same cooks again.”
“There is still a cook off between them and a place in the finals week.”
