MasterChef viewers share their horror after a contestant incorporated two VERY unusual ingredients into his macaroni cheese during the knockout round
MasterChef viewers were horrified by a particular dish on Thursday’s episode of the show as the contestants battled for a spot in the final ten.
During the episode, the second group of seven hopefuls competed for the chance to work in a professional kitchen for the first time.
Their assignment was to cook a dish that they would put on the menu of their own restaurant or pop-up, or include in their theoretical cookbook.
Fans watched contestant Josh serve macaroni cheese as part of his dish, but some were shocked by the ingredients used in the pasta recipe.
Josh, 25, from Stratford Upon Avon, revealed that they would add evaporated milk and cheese singles to their mac and cheese, leaving some viewers stunned.

Judge John Torode told viewers that Josh typically presents “crowd-friendly” dishes, but noted that he has made a few mistakes over the past few rounds.
John saw a slice of plastic cheese on the counter, picked it up and asked Josh to explain the dish to him.
Josh explained that he was making macaroni cheese, barbecued short rib, jalapeno cornbread, and a pickled coleslaw.
He said mac and cheese was his “favorite dish in the world” and also the first dish he learned to cook, which is why it should be in his recipe book.
