MasterChef viewers distraught as ‘fan favourite’ Forest given the boot

MasterChef viewers were stunned on Friday when fan favorite Forest got the competition shoe.

The marketing director, 34, originally from Hong Kong, impressed viewers and judges alike earlier in the competition, but suffered a series of setbacks tonight during the quarterfinals.

He chose to make a savory dish for the first time, but returning winner Thomasina Miers, who was allowed to judge this week, was not impressed.

Thomasina said Forest’s lobster and cheese sauce was not up to standards, as she called them “one-dimensional.”

His Eton Mess also failed to impress, but viewers think it was Forest’s decision to use packet noodles, allowing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace to easily send him home, leaving viewers furious.

One person took to Twitter to express his disappointment with the result, writing, “Forest was my winner until today!”

“Forest is only lost because he got his noodles out of a packet,” another commented.

Another viewer posted, “One person wraps noodles. One person makes his own noodles. Shouldn’t it be Forest? Just a really bad choice of two dishes by him.’

While someone else asked, “Bos, wtf happened?” #MasterChefUK #MasterChef.’

One sympathetic fan wrote, “I just want to hug Forest and make him a cup of tea.”

And someone else joked, ‘Forest gone. Sorting the wood from the trees.’

There were more cooking fiascos in Thursday night’s MasterChef episode.

Seven competitors took part in the heats of which only four could advance to the quarter finals.

And it was a tough day in the kitchen for Cliodhna Gibson, 24, who had a nightmare about her chocolate cake.

She made her dough too thin and flimsy, so when she tried to move it, it broke on the floor and the sweet filling spilled out everywhere.

The blonde beauty was then only able to serve one successful cake to judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

They were not impressed and she was boxed in at the end of the episode when the four men left made it to the next round.

When she left she said, ‘If you don’t laugh, you will cry. It didn’t turn out the way I wanted, but it is.

Speaking of the pie, she added, “I should have made some extra trays, but I didn’t!”

It comes after on Tuesday’s episode two contestants NKY and Victor both undercooked their chicken and served pink meat to the shocked judges.

NKY, 49, a civil servant from Lagos, Nigeria, made the first mistake when she made a spicy Cajun chicken thigh with sticky rice.

But when the judges opened it, it was still pink and raw inside, preventing them from trying the dish.

In response, one viewer wrote on Twitter, “Why can’t people cook chicken??!!??!! #Chef’.

Another said, “More pink chicken #MasterChef #MasterChefUK.”

A third commented, “Time for a game of Raw Chicken Roulette #MasterChef.”

In the cook off after failing to win an apron in the first round, Victor’s pan-fried guinea fowl with mushrooms and fondant potatoes was also pink in the center.

One viewer commented on the moment, “You know you messed up #Masterchef when the thing they’re praising is your potato…”

Another said, “It’s quite a feat to thoroughly cook a bird’s legs but undercook the breast.” But I said he was toasted before. #Chef’

Both NKY and Victor, a 62-year-old IT consultant, were sent home at the end of the eventful episode.

Since its 2005 revival, Masterchef has been reviewed by John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

Outside of the show, John is best known for hosting John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen alongside his wife Lisa Faulkner, and is also known for Popularizing Australian food in the UK at his The Luxe and Smiths of Smithfields restaurants.
