MasterChef star Laura Sharrad shares heartbreaking news as she reveals she suffered a miscarriage: ‘I don’t think anything can ever prepare you for losing a little one’
Laura Sharrad has shared heartbreaking news with her fans.
The former MasterChef Australia star posted a photo of herself next to her husband, Max Sharrad, and their dog, Alfie, on Instagram along with a lengthy caption.
The 26-year-old wrote: ‘A lot of you have noticed I’ve been really quiet here lately, and to be honest I’ve been avoiding all my platforms.
“I share every part of my life with all of you, so this feels good to share our heartbreak…I didn’t want to share anything more with you that our little family was growing.
“I don’t think anything can ever prepare you for losing a little one, and even though our baby was so small, that doesn’t make it any less difficult.”

She continued, “Not many people talk about miscarriage, and I really understand now how hard it can be, but for me it has helped me heal physically and mentally.
“We have a very positive feeling about the future and I am so grateful to have Max by my side.
“We’ve taken our time to process it all, and we can’t wait to become parents soon, and of course Alfie is really excited to be a big brother one day.”
Laura and Max married in 2018, three years after meeting as colleagues at Orana restaurant in Adelaide, which was owned by Jock Zonfrillo.

Together with her husband, fellow chef Max, she runs the Nido Bar and Pasta restaurant in Adelaide, South Australia.
Laura narrowly missed out on MasterChef: Back to Win in 2020, finishing second behind champion Emelia Jackson.
She was undone by her overly icy gelato dessert, which she accidentally left in an open freezer.
However, there was good news for Laura as she was given $30,000 to grow her business.
