Grace is a restaurant critic, columnist, presenter, author and regularly appears on BBC’s MasterChef UK.
It was almost a year before her father George sadly passed away after a battle with dementia.
On her Instagram last year, she reminisced about their time together and how he “hated” Christmas, imagining him celebrating the day in heaven with her late mother, also called Grace. It is unclear how old he was.
She wrote in her caption, “Well daddy. You choose your moments. To be honest, you hated Christmas. All those people who ‘came in’ when you wanted to watch Porridge Christmas Special with a glass of Lidl vin de table and your fruit and nuts.
‘Thank you for fixing my roller skates and teaching me the value of a pound. I will always, on some level, sit in your armpit watching Kenny Everett in 1978. #ynwa.”
Throwback: The MasterChef critic, 50, took to Instagram last year to pay tribute to her father as she shared a childhood photo of the couple, along with a floral tribute from his funeral

In 2020, she wrote about his battle with dementia: “There’s so much I want to say to Dad, but I can’t bring myself to.

‘But sometimes I see fear in his eyes.
“Sometimes, the way Dad talks these days, his brain catches up halfway through a nonsensical sentence, and in that moment he understands the utter ridiculousness of what he’s saying, and pure shame crosses his face.”
