A Masterchef fan has pointed out a shocking detail in the show.
The viewer took to a MasterChef Australia 2023 Facebook group after noticing a common ‘unsanitary’ act some participants were doing while cooking.
Several contestants have been caught “scratching” their heads or even wiping their faces during the cooking challenges.
“Please stop scratching your hair or wiping your face while cooking!” wrote the fan.
“I love this show and all the contestants, but think while (you) are cooking.”

Several other fans agreed, saying they’ve noticed it many times this season as well.
“Actually I think the same, it’s terrible,” added one.
“I agree it’s very unsanitary,” said another.
The detail led many other viewers to reveal that they have seen other unsanitary acts, including licking a spoon before “continuing to stir it.”

“And those with long hair should stop draping it into the food they’re preparing every time they lean over it,” one fan added.
“Hair nets and/or beard nets should be mandatory,” said another.
“I don’t eat out for these reasons,” said one boldly.
“I mean people are sweating and it’s dripping down their face and nose, don’t tell me it’s not through the food, and if they use gloves they think they can touch everything and then they touch the food and they don’t think . cross contamination, no one ever knows what goes on in the kitchens. No, thank you!’

Others weren’t so shocked, though, with one member of the group writing, “You realize the series is already done. Bit late to ask participants to see what they are doing!’
“It’s a TV show, guys, not an operating room. If you saw what happened in most restaurants and takeaways, you’d never eat out again,” agreed another.
“Do you all wear hair nets when you cook for people at home?”
Masterchef fans were recently shocked by what appeared at first glance to be an editing error during Monday’s episode of the show.
When former contestant and fan favorite Poh Ling Yeow, 49, made a cameo appearance to present the “mystery box” challenge, viewers were left scratching their heads when they noticed that half of the cast was missing.

Many flocked to social media to point out the bizarre detail, with many not realizing that eight of the aspiring chefs had been stricken with Covid-19 during filming.
‘Where are all the participants? Am I missing something,” one person wrote.
“This season is weird, no idea what’s happening – think they’re cutting bits – can’t get into it,” added another.
“Eight participants with covid?” Another tweeted alongside a GIF.

Judge Melissa Leong had explained that Covid-19 was to blame, telling the remaining contestants, “Welcome to a brand new week in the MasterChef kitchen. As you can see, a few participants are still missing today. Covid strikes again. But, in lighter news, you survived your first elimination!’
The sick contestants remained in isolation as the show continued filming at the time.
However, one fan was confused, writing on a MasterChef Facebook page, “How is it fair that half of the contestants had covid and missed elimination?”
“If they all come back, they will also be eliminated as a group as tonight’s contestants watch. They announced it at the beginning of the show,” another replied.
