MasterChef Australia star Adam Liaw splashes $5.26m on a lavish home on Sydney’s North Shore

Former MasterChef Australia star Adam Liaw has spent an eye-watering $5.26 million on a stunning new home on Sydney’s north shore.

Located in Roseville, 8 miles from the CBD, the Victorian Era features five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Liaw, 44, bought the sprawling estate after it went up for auction with a list price of $4.9 million The Daily Telegraph.

Originally built in 1908, the heritage home blends modern luxury with Old World charm.

Extensive renovation has retained many of the period features, including a beautiful classic fireplace and decorative stained glass windows.

Heritage elements also include decorative ceilings, Kauri floors and Art Nouveau motifs.

A generous extension to the rear has a spacious, open-plan design and includes multiple living areas and a formal dining area.

There is also an outdoor entertainment area, a heated resort pool and a study/home office.

Other highlights include a rumpus room and large kitchen with high-end appliances and a breakfast bar.

Meanwhile, Liaw has sold his childhood home in nearby Chatswood, which he had been working on for a decade, after putting it on the market for $3.2 million.

Liaw, who rose to fame as the winner of MasterChef Australia in 2010, made headlines last month when he announced a new TV project starring Poh Ling Yeow.

The celebrity chefs will team up to present the SBS Great Australian Bites series.

Having become fast friends over a decade ago when they competed on consecutive seasons of MasterChef, the pair explore the local cuisine in the new reality show.
