There are rumors that cfamous chef Jamie Oliver will replace Jock Zonfrillo about the upcoming season of MasterChef Australia.

But many fans have flocked to social media to express their disapproval of the 48-year-old’s participation in the cooking show.

Viewers are calling for Australian chef Shannon Bennett to star in the hit show instead.

‘Jamie is not the person to take over from Jock! I wish Shannon would have stepped up,” one person wrote on Facebook.

I completely agree, no need to import an expensive TV celebrity,” said a second.

Channel 10 insiders confirmed on Woman’s Day that Jamie will be set to film the new season of the hit cooking show in November.

According to the report, the British foodie has not yet agreed to permanently replace Zonfrillo.

“Jamie has closed a deal worth about $2 million,” the source told Woman’s Day in the latest issue.

They said the contract with the best-selling cookbook author includes a trip to Britain for Christmas, as well as a subsistence allowance for his family when they visit in January.

Jamie first appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef during season four in 2012.
