MasterChef Australia fan favourite Callum Hann announces shock restaurant closure

MasterChef finalist Callum Hann will temporarily close his Adelaide CBD restaurant eleven on August 3.

Hann, 34, and his business partner Themis Chryssidis launched their premium dinner in 2020 during ‘the heart of the Covid pandemic’.

The pair will reopen the restaurant at the same location weeks later, on August 28, with a “new exciting concept.”

In a recent Instagram post, the restaurant shared insights into their decision, acknowledging the transformations within the Waymouth Street precinct and the hurdles of nearby construction.

“Over the past few years, Adelaide’s food scene has changed. It hasn’t changed in a bad or good way, it’s just changed. “Similarly, Waymouth’s street area has changed tremendously,” the post said.

“But as the Marriott Hotel in the heritage-listed GPO nears completion and we recognize that Adelaide’s dining scene has changed, we see this as an opportunity to make some big and exciting changes at the eleventh hour,” they continued.

‘We are so excited about the possibilities at the new and rejuvenated location that in addition to a brand new concept, we will also be expanding our offering in the region by entering into an additional lease agreement… proof that we are not going anywhere! added the message.
